We need a HUGE step up from him, not one speed move and a flash here and there.

We almost won with him in against a team that makes the afccg. People are hung up on losing a pass rusher. But Houston doesn't rush every down like von Miller. I think we'll miss him in coverage as much as anything he's a well rounded player on the top of his game in every facet. No ones gonna just step in and replace him. If ford can be 50% we'll be fair. With Hali at 70% pass rusher he used to be opposite.

I guess his concern is that if the throw is behind Kelce, the ball could've been housed. But again, that's how that play was designed. It's the NFL; at some point the QB just has to execute and if he doesn't, shit don't work.

That kind of throw is especially critical when you're inside the red zone and space gets tight in a hurry.

Gotta attempt that throw and if you miss, miss away from the defender. That's exactly what happened there. Looked good to me.

After watching that condensed footage, I realized just how pathetic our DL is. Maybe they were tired or something, but there was no push at all. Only 1 Jaye Howard push.

Sutton was also a huge dumbass this game. Why on Earth would you put 1 DL in on passing downs? Jesus

No question.

The DL was the biggest disappointment in a game filled with them. The down lineman were abysmal. As you noted, Sutton did them no favors but even when we had 3 down, they weren't able to get any push at all.

That's how you have to beat Brady; pressure in his lap (pressure off the edges he'll just step up or release quickly). When the DL failed to show, our defense was pretty helpless against him.

Yea I don't know why O.City put him in the same category as Flemming.

Haven't heard shit about Flemming all camp, but Cooper sounds like he's having a great camp.

if either of these guys can show improvements from S keeping the play in front of them, its a great thing for our depth. especially fleming being a fantastic ST gunner, if he shows even competent from S that's a big win.

Now that the Chiefs are about two weeks into training camp, what is the latest on Hali, Charles and Houston in terms of their injury situations?

I am assuming we won't see Houston, at the very earliest until the regular season.

What about Hali and Charles? Is the expectation that they will be ready to play by September 11th?

O.city 08-09-2016 09:24 AM

Numbers game wise, I don't see how you keep cooper. Who's getting cut to keep him?

You've got peters, gaines, russell, Nelson, white. There's 5 as I don't figure they'll be cutting any of the guys they just drafted this year.

Which brings us to Chris Jones.

Add a guy with all the elite measurables on paper and dominating college tape and you have yourself a good rotation.

No question the Jones and Hill picks were made bc of that game exposing those weaknesses more than any other last season.

If we kept him, I think it would be at safety.

I'd probably guess we don't keep him either way, but he's having a nice campz

He's had his name called a few times more than Fleming, and it doesn't matter til we see it in games, but I don't see any way he sticks on a corner or safety.

Berry, parker, sorensen, murray, brown and ?

He just doesn't look like a guy that's still learning the position. It's amazing.

stevie brown, jeron johnson, jamell fleming, marcus cooper may all be fighting for 1 roster spot

add in sorenson if you dare, but then we may be looking at the last 2 spots in the secondary. personally i think sorenson is safe.

edit: this assumes parker, berry, and murray on the roster at S

O.city 08-09-2016 09:30 AM

Although I would like to see cooper stick somewhere, he's pretty athletic.

Also, Eric Rowe seems to have fallen out of favor in philly. Could he play some safety?
