As soon as he got in the game last night, he got the ball and chucked up a 17 foot jumper early in the shot clock. The announcers even said "Self is asking 'why the F did you do that?'"

Neither Diallo nor Bragg would be lottery picks if the draft was this weekend.

It's not this weekend. He will do something to impress between now and the end of the tournament.

1) your post had them in the lottery already, saying it would be dumb of them to stay in school.

2) they should probably do something to impress Self before he hands them playing time.

What makes you think Bragg or Diallo will be here next year? The NBA drafts for potential, not current ability. They could be lottery picks.

It'd be best for our title hopes that both are gone after this year, that would mean the light switch came on and we went on to win the NC.

But I'm not gonna speculate who stays or goes. Every time I do it's the opposite haha

Well, that 7-7 freak under the basket dissuades guys from trying to take it to the rim.

That doesn't mean that was a good decision. FFS, Lucas dunked on that guy.

Hmmm.....I don't recall that. Self ran several pick + rolls in the 2nd half and Ndjiae flashed to the screen, allowing Lucas to backdoor to the rim.

But yes, Diallo probably shouldn't be showcasing his jumper right yet.

He tries to do too much offensively, but what's really keeping him off the floor is what a mess defensively he is. It's too bad because he has the necessary skillset to be great in that regard. Maybe he'll get that figured out by March, but it's going to be tough with the B12 being as competitive as it is this season.

The quest for 12 straight starts today. A lot of good games on as conference play begins on a wide scale. Baylor has never won at AFH, let's keep that true today.

CoMoChief 01-02-2016 12:42 PM

Hope Ellis decides to play defense today.

Yes, halfway through his senior season he is going to grow 4 inches and turn into Aldrich.

He is what he is. Why is being a multiple all-conference player not good enough?

KC_Connection 01-02-2016 01:07 PM

You don't need to be Cole Aldrich to provide a modicum of value defensively.

Rock Chalk baby!

Win and we are #1. That doesn't suck

Halfway through last year he picked up defensively and was generally playing a lot tougher, rebounds, screens, aggressive play, etc. Then he got hurt. But quite frankly we don't win the league without him playing tougher.

He's not as bad as he was before conference play, but it's an attitude thing and he can flip a switch.
