Useless numbers to chew on. We know Mahomes has thrown 94 deep passes this year which was the most in the NFL. The Patriots have the lowest deep completion percentage (24.2 percent) in the NFL. Jackson is 1-16 in allowing deep passes. I have no idea if he can stick with Hill outside the hashes but if anyone can, it's him. He has shut down the top receivers in the NFL. Interesting how we have an all-pro CB on the other side. So Bill has chosen to match up a rookie CB on the other team's top WR over an all-pro CB....wha? Hill does most of his damage on the inside. We have JJ and Jason MCCourty. That won't be good enough. JC has the ball skills but hes a rookie in the biggest game of his life. I hope he keeps his head. We'll see. |

FWIW I don't see JC manning up on Hill 100% of the time. Hill is a different animal. No one like him out there. Hes a problem. |

If y'all want to get some insight into what the Pats MIGHT do this is a good read. Basically it's what we've been saying all week. More man, single high, rush 3 or 4 w 5-7 layered every 10 yds. Time the blitzes. Even then y'all are gonna put up 4TDs and over 400yds of O. Only so much y'can do. I don't consider Mahomes a runner so if he does scramble, fine with me. Hows his knee. I think we just need to see how good Williams is. If he starts gashing us on a 4 man front then that'll suck. https://www.patspulpit.com/2019/1/17...mpionship-game |
At the end of a season a team is nearly always what it was all year. “They can just switch it on when it counts!” Isnt supported by any real data. And the Pats are a really crappy road team this year.
That *could* change Sunday, but the odds are much heavily weighted that it won’t. |

There are physical reasons they've been markedly better-Ward and Lucas, a healthy Houston, some schematic changes. Will it hold up? I tend to think so; but it's entirely possible they've just played over their heads the last two games. |

But there's been marked improvement, and I think it's definitely a Super Bowl caliber defense paired with the offense. |

Tom is healthy and this is the best Pats O line in a long, long time. Pass and run blocking. Just need the old man to deliver. |
My Key to the Game: Pat's Legs
Movement in the pocket of course but his ability to run from a collapsing pocket and gain 15 yards at key times is what will win this game |
