I'm not a cap guy, so maybe someone else can explain how Tunsil would even be financially feasible. Because on the surface, it doesn't look possible.

My understanding if the Chiefs or any team would trade for him they would only be responsible for $18.5 million this year which his base salary. His $35 million cap hit includes already paid bonuses etc which we wouldn't be responsible for. Obviously you would have to get him an extension

Correct.

The cap hit would be acceptable and would leave KC in a nice bargaining position for a new contract as well because they're starting from a lower year 1.

The big IF in all this is availability. If he's available, I'd be awfully tempted to get that done.

They would be dumb to trade him with as much cap space they have and new rookie QB coming aboard. Should have tried earlier in the season.

Why would DeMeco Ryans be ok with that move either?

There's something to be said for putting 'your stamp' on things.

Guys coming in with a clean slate suuuuuuuure like draft picks.

I agree with y'all - I'd keep him if I'm Houston. But there's a reason to do it should they go that route.

Ok, now that I would do in a ****in' heartbeat.

HOU has like $50M in cap space. I can't think of a good reason they'd want to trade Tunsil. But it's HOU, so who knows? Not like w're talking about a franchise with a long history of making smart moves.

Eh, maybe. But he literally has like $35M reasons to stay right where he's at.

He could come make that here.

With Veach, almost anything is possible, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Sure, or he could come here, make money and have a shot at a ring.

We have 9 without compensatory, IIRC.

Actually, it appears to be 8 prior to compensatory being awarded.

Round 1: No. 31 overall
Round 2: No. 63 overall
Round 3: No. 95 overall
Round 4 (via Miami): TBA
Round 4: TBA
Round 5: TBA
Round 6 (via Miami): TBA
Round 7: TBA

As a comparison, we had 8 rookies play SIGNIFICANT snaps on O/D this past year and one more who played significant snaps on ST. I guess I don't get the desire of Chief Fans to trade our picks.
