Not really a fair comparison. Williams is a rare blend of ****ing huge combined with pass rush ability. He's much better against the run than Jones.

I think its hard to compare the two when Williams is just now getting into his prime. Jones is at the end of his. Jones had 2 sacks his rookie year and 5.5 his second year. Williams had 2.5 and 7. Year 3 Jones destroys Williams but year 4 Jones drops back down.

So Jones is what 3 years older than Williams and in his first 4 years had 5.5 sacks more. Is he a better player? Probably, but I'm not sure at 31 he's better than Williams at 28, and he could be less rounded. He should earn a little above Williams and that's what he was offered

It's not as much about what you've done but about what you're projecting. Chris is about to turn 30. Williams just had a breakout season with 12 sacks, 28 QB hits and 12 TFL's with literal garbage for an offense.

He's gonna be better than Chris this year IMO
