Agreed...they won the tournament, let them have it. KU had their chance...

Maybe they could flip flop and drop UCLA to the 6 seed, too.

I don't think that's a terrible bracket, not sure about Michigan State being a 1 seed though. I think if they won the Big Ten I would've considered it. As much as everyone hates the Big Ten on this board... Izzo's teams are usually competitive in the tournament.

I love how teams that are on the bubble complain. If you can't make a 64 team tournament sit down shut up and **** you.

I'd agree with you if it was the best 65 teams in the tournament. But it's not.

doomy3 03-15-2009 02:19 PM

Why the **** would Michigan State move into a one seed with UCONN AND Memphis as 2s?

KChiefs1 03-15-2009 02:20 PM

Looks like MU & KU's first round opponent will be one of these teams:

Stephen F. Austin, North Dakota State, Portland State, Akron

Go Mizzou & Chiefs 03-15-2009 02:20 PM

Eh... I don't like all the Big 10 love. I don't think MSU is a #1, and I think the 5/6s could be pushed down a little. I don't see how a 6-loss Big 10 teams gets the nod over a 4-loss Big East team.

Mizzou and OU should be swapped, but I guess the Tigers don't have any superstars that would get 60% camera time and interviews with the parents even if he wasn't playing.

Kansas is probably safe as a 3... Syracuse had an epic tournament run, but didn't have any huge signature wins in the regular season. FSU had a good tourney run and beat a Lawson-less UNC, but didn't have any huge wins outside of the Clemson Collapse.

Tribesman 03-15-2009 02:32 PM

Damn, half the Big 12 is there. Is that the highest turnout for the conference?

I like at the way it is because I don't want a tournament with the 65 best teams. You would have a first round upset all the time. Instead of a #1 - #4 seed playing Morgan State, you would have to play a Kentucky or a Baylor.

The reason why shitty teams are in there is to protect the #1 thru 4 seeds mainly. There's not a huge reward in college basketball as it is for how well you play in the regular season. Because as long as you are the top 34 at-large teams..you have a shot at the championship.

Syracuse beat us and Memphis in the non-con.

I'd personally rather see a smaller school get in there than a team that finishes .500 or worse in a BCS conference anyway. If those teams want their shot, they have their conference tourney to do it... just like Baylor almost did.

DJay23 03-15-2009 02:44 PM

My hope is that KU is a 4 or else is seeded lower than Mizzou. This team seems to be motivated by lack of recognition/respect. I think a 4, or a lower seed than Mizzou would do that.
