There are times when you just have to go with your gut instinct and take a chance. Pioli isnt scared too. It could bite him in the ass, but you know what? **** it, he's taken that chance. Now we have to see how it works. He's getting paid alot of money to make these kind of choices. He knows a little bit about what he's doing.

We just have to wait to see if it works out.

I still think the QUATROTEAM of Mecca, Milkman, OTWP and 'Hamas' would have been a great hire.

1. No it's not - Big Ben has over $36M in guarantees.

2. It's ****ing reeruned to just look at the guaranteed money, when other QBs have monster contracts that may not get paid in full, but most certainly pay them more than $6M a year.

For reference sakes, last year Big Ben made $27M, Jamarcus Russell made $17M, Romo made $13M, Peyton made $12M......this was all earned last year.

Cassel's $6M a year contract will not earn him the 2nd most amount of money of QBs next year. Absolutely ridiculous attempt by you.

You know if it has 36 in guarantees the total contract is going to be worth alot more than that right?

Are you just trying to be argumentative today or are you drunk already?

The salary cap this year is about a cadjillion dollars and the league may be uncapped next year. This ain't 1999. (I'm agreeing with you, btw)

We've gone the full gambit in KC, people used to complain about Lamar being cheap, now Clark overpays.

Not from my POV: 22 vs 27. That should indicate a big difference of contract size.

That said, rookie contracts need capping.

Yes, but the 27 year old has a lot less tread. And he'll only be 33 when his contract expires....hardly old for a QB.

How misleading. If he's cut tomorrow maybe IF it indeed was guaranteed. If he plays out the contract 36 million is not near what Brady and Manning and others will get

yeah because a QB guaranteed to make $15M this year is going to sign that...ROFL

Get over it.

Pioli is methodical, not gutsy. Do some people just post out of their ass?

omg do any of you have common sense?

if it's 36 guaranteed, the contract will be about 70M...meaning he is getting paid as much as all the other top QB's...which makes sense because that's what Pioli expects him to be

You know if the contract is larger then you absolutely do not have the evidence to say conclusively that Cassel is now the 2nd highest paid QB in the league now, right?

Right now all we know is 6 year, $36M. Even if it's a $70M dollar contract, I GUARAN ****IN TEE Cassel will not be the 2nd highest paid QB next year.

What's our bet?

The Kansas City Chiefs have agreed to terms with quarterback Matt Cassel on a six-year contract extension with $36 million guaranteed, a league source close to the situation has just informed me.

Cassel was acquired by the Chiefs in a trade with New England back on March 1st for a second round draft pick in this year’s draft (#34 overall).
