So Mecca, why is Pioli and Haley dropping the ball?

Look dude, I don't care if the team goes 0-16, the first year of a new regime you are suppose to lay a foundation and I've seen exactly 0 of that.

I don't see them getting better, I see them switching out scrubs for scrubs they know, that is not improvement that is as was said before switching one good ole boy network for another.

We have NOTHING for this teams future moving forward and they had an entire offseason to do something about that, why should I feel confident they know what they're doing?

From what I remember after the contract was signed, and supported by this post from Arrowhead Pride, Cassel's base salaries and bonuses for the first two years ARE the $28M.

http://www.arrowheadpride.com/2009/7...t-cassels-base

You have to do the math -- they list $11.25M as his total bonuses over the first two years, and his first two base salaries in that table add up to $16.25M -- but $28M is the total.

If that info there is accurate, he's also got a nice roster bonus due in 2011 -- year three -- which would be an incentive towards parting ways if he's not earning his money.

Mecca 10-07-2009 04:42 PM

To me his contract says he's going to play it out here, I think they give him atleast 3-4 years which covers all the big money years.

The Top 8 WR's in drops in 2008:

Braylon Edwards
Dwayne Bowe
Brandon Marshall
Terrell Owens
Calvin Johnson
Roddy White
Marques Colston
Greg Jennings

Those guys SUCK.

Mecca 10-07-2009 04:43 PM

I think it's lost on numerous people that the top WR's in drops are also the top WR's in targets because they are high caliber players.

Common sense says if one guy has 150 balls thrown at him and another guy has 70 the law of averages means the guy with 150 even if he's far better will have more drops.

I've been looking for the link, but that info is contradictory to what I read from Jason LaConfora of NFLN.

He said that Cassel was earning over $16M in 2009, and that doesn't jive with the numbers AP came up with.

That would mean he's earning $12M in 2010, but AP is showing him getting just shy of that amount in base, not counting bonuses.

Regardless, I'm standing by my claim. He'll be here in 2011, even if he plays bad in 2009/2010.

Umm.....A.J Feeley was traded from the Eagles to the Dolphins in 2004. He started 8 games in 2004 and then was subsequently traded to the Chargers in 2005. So no....AJ Feeley DOES NOT meet OTWP58's criteria.

Dumbass, the subject was cutting him after 2 years.

You should know, you started it: (For the record, these posts are in chronological order, since you seem to have an issue with determining what came first, 117, or 130)

I'd be shocked if he's here any less than 4.

People can say all we're on the hook for is the $30M guaranteed, but that's if we actually cut him loose.

If he's on the roster, he gets his salary. And like I said, I'd be shocked if they were to cut him before that contract expires - or at least until he got most of it.

Also Feely was a 5th round pick... OTWP is talking about 1st and 2nd rounders...

Actually he was talking about trading a 2nd rounder for a QB and then cutting him 2 years later after he didn't perform.
