Probably not.

O.city 11-06-2011 09:01 PM

The FO will throw some bullshit about him being a rookie and not being ready out there for a reason not to play him. And I will quickly state that atleast 4 other rookie qbs are playing well this year.

KCBOSS1 11-06-2011 09:01 PM

You are absolutely right. This one was not on Cassel. As bad as that blocking broke down, even if he made some bad plays, who wouldn't be jumpy after being hit that much?

Dude has heart and he competes. He's not aaron rodgers or tom brady, but he wants to win. Every QB in this league has happy feet when you get in their face. Reference Tom Brady today. We won't ever win a super bowl with Matt Cassel, but he is serviceable.

Why doesn't anyone bring up the defense today? They got pushed around. Brandon flowers is so overrated it's not even funny. He is a prima donna.

We got outplayed by an 0-7 fb team.

Not THE problem always A problem, someone print a bumper sticker [and paste it over these ****sticks' mouths].

Rodgers, Rapelisberger, Brees...

O.city 11-06-2011 09:04 PM

When a team blitzes like the phins did today, with the wr we have, we should have been hitting hot reads all day. How many times did that happen?

Bearcat 11-06-2011 09:10 PM

Skimming through the thread, I saw no one say it was all Cassel's fault, but several Cassel apologists act like he had little to nothing to do with the loss. Yeah, that makes sense.

He wasn't just bad due to the pressure, and he really, really sucks when he is pressured. He's ****ing clueless... it goes from primary read->checkdown without pressure to primar->oh **** I have to get out of here when there's the slightest threat of pressure. Saying no other QB could have done more today is absolutely ridiculous. Yeah, the coaches, O-Line, etc; didn't do him any favors, but there's a huuuuuge difference between what Cassel did today and, for example, what Cutler did a few weeks ago when he was running for his life all night.

Well that's a good point, but whoever said he could be compared with these guys. Roethlisberger, I don't think qualifies. But I've never been a Cassel supporter, and would love to see him replaced with a franchise guy. But this one was not on Him. 31-3, come on. We were flat and sucked it up top to bottom. Not on Cassel

Reerun_KC 11-06-2011 09:13 PM

Its on Cassel. The abortion of an ol. I hate this ol as much as I did herm. Its a joke. It was on the defense and crennel for his typical ignore the te defense. This team played like shit and got rented.

Yes and no. Alot of the scrambles could have been avoided, Cassel just has piss poor pocket awareness and downfield vision. Its really frustating to see open receivers that a total scab like Matt Moore could hit that Cassel can't.

Chief_in_Commander 11-06-2011 09:14 PM

Not all Cassel's fault but he just shows time and time again he can't carry us, He can't manuever in the pocket and deliver accurate throws when blitzed and he won't make a hot read or any of that. He can deliver to open receivers when he has time and can step into it.

KCBOSS1 11-06-2011 09:16 PM

Monday, He was running through his progressions so well, better than I've ever seen him. But he proved today, hit him a few times and he gets seriously rattled. He got serious tunnel vision on His receivers. As I said, I don't think this one was on him, but still, serious problems.

Wilcots said on several occasions that Cassel had panicked.

Which is exactly what some of us have been saying for three years.

There's a difference between actual pressure and perceived pressure. Any time a defender is within 5 yards of Cassel, dude freaks.

KCBOSS1 11-06-2011 09:17 PM

What I'm afraid of is that he also seems to go through serious swings. He may be still be affected next week and get tunnel vision again. I hope not. I'm traveling quite a ways to see them next week. Not as excited as I was yesterday.

Mama Hip Rockets 11-06-2011 09:18 PM

Cassel sucks.
