Still KOSTAKI'S pizzeria in columbia MO
|
It'll be the pizza I eat in NYC on Sept 21st....4 weeks, 1 day
|
Really? Kostakis? I think that place kinda stinks even among the Columbia, MO pizza joints. I'd go Wiseguys, Gumby's and Shakespeares over all 3.
I really like the wood-fired, I just don't think Kostaki's does a great job of it. My favorite pizza that I can recall was at a place called Anthonino's on the hill in St. Louis. Absolutely fantastic wood-fired pizza. Oh, and seconded on Kelso's. I think they closed the mall location but they used to have a carry-out joint at Zona-Rosa. I'd imagine it's probably gone as well. The Kitchen Sink was a killer 'za. |
Kelso's still operates on Armour Rd just off Burlington.

Petaluma Ca (a bit north of SF) Ive been all over, including Italy / New York.... Never had anything as good.....Some have come close... Union Hotel in Occidental has a very good shrimp pizza w white sauce. Im hungry now. |
The best ive ever had was on the boardwalk in jersey (never been to new york). But in cali i would say frankie and johnies in hollywood or beach pizza near lax.
|
does anybody remember back in the 80's when Pizza Hut made a stuffed pizza called Priazzo? they had 3 different kinds but all I remember is Priazzo Milano was the one we'd always get. big ole thick chicacgo style stuffed pizza. good stuff.

Zepi's on Wornall Road circa 1978.
Old School pizza in Olympia, WA; NY style and it's glorious. |
The Dish in KC (actually Liberty) has great deep dish Chicago style pizza
Happy Joe's, inventor of the taco pizza, up in the quad cities (Iowa/Illinois) as well as St Louis is amazing. Ginos in Chicago wins over everything The Wheel Pizza up in Lawrence. My God that crust owns everything. |
Piss pour pizza.
