This, plus I will NOT watch ESPN this fall if Ray Lewis is on at all, period.

I also miss the scrabble championships they had complete with commentary.

I seem to be in the minority, but I actually like Chris Berman.

I use to but Berman and TJ clearly hate the Chiefs and it just pisses me off that they show it so blatantly on air.

I usually mute it until something comes up worth watching like Schefter or Mort report.

ESPN is awful. Just turrible. Their live events are good. Everything else is shit. The hell of it is that it didn't used to be that way. When I was in college, it was on every day while I was doing homework, cooking, whatever. It was on. Now I can't stand it. There are a few highlights of a NY/Boston team, then some jackass like Squirmin Herman Mother****ing Sack of **** Edwards on hollering about something or other.

I'm sure there is some decent programming on. When I worked at Cabela's I'd watch Mike and Mike in the morning. It's not great, but it is good enough. There aren't any gimmicks, no fake arguments, just sports discussion. And they're pulling that off with Mike ****ing Golic and Greenburg who is possibly the least experienced/knowledgeable guy in the industry. It isn't hard, but they ****ing go batshit crazy on everything.

I used to catch PTI and Around the Horn when I could but I haven't seen it in years. I'm sure it's degraded into a disaster after the Kornheiser MNF disaster.

People are bitching about women's softball, I'll watch the shit out of that. Track and Field? I'm all over that like pee on Hootie. Show me sports mother****ers.

And Tebow's birthday party? **** you. Die in a ****ing fire you assbags. Seriously. GTFO.

Not to mention propping up trolls like Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith.

Pretty much hit the nail on the head here.
Along with just constant repetition. Find something else to talk about. Jeez. You are suppose to cover the world. Leave the East Coast once in awhile. Not everyone lives in Boston believe it or not. Freaking idiots.

Some things I do like: 30 for 30, Bob Ley and Outside The Lines. Mike and Mike (At times) also Colin Cowherd, he might be annoying but if you listen close he speaks the truth more often than not.
Scott Van Pelt is pretty cool also.

Not a huge fan of those guys but people so dumb and petty when they say stuff like this.

It is without merit.

TJ is a former donk, and the few times the Chiefs are discussed he seems very uninterested. Still though our small market has more to do with the lack of national coverage. Only way to get their attention is to win. Until then keep tuning in to 810/610 for your Chiefs talk.

I really like Van Pelt and Russillo on the radio. They don't always just talk about sports or even the most popular sports, they actually sound like a couple of dudes close to my age just hanging out shooting the shit with interviews and some directed sportstalk mixed in.

I like Golic but Greenberg makes me sick. He's such a knee jerk over reactionary douche it's driven me to change the channel on the morning commute. Plus I really don't need to know all of the up to date news on the Jets.

I only watch the TV station if a KU or soccer game is on or if there is a 30 for 30 on that I'm interested in.

Four letter network is unwatchable. Too many commercials. Rather listen to Hud than watch the four letter abortion.

Pasta Little Brioni 07-14-2013 09:14 AM

They hired guys like Herm and Scooter...enough said.

The fact they have ESPN NewYork, LA, and Chicagos is dumb as ****.

And that is precisely why they're in trouble. You can't do that anymore.

Obviously if it went to that model, many subscribers who don't care about ESPN would drop out and that would raise the per-month fee on those of us who want it. But so? If they wanted to charge me $15/mo, it would still be a steal.

Easy for you to say. The only thing I watch on ESPN is Monday Night Football, and I certainly don't think that's worth $60/year. And I'd even bet that a majority of the country doesn't watch it at all.

You can't compare share-of-cost channel rates to a la carte rates. It's a completely different deal.

With NFL Network, MLB Network, NHL Network and Golf Channel all on my DTV package, there's no reason for me to watch ESPN anymore.

The last time ESPN was on a TV in my house was in April for Masters coverage.

The NFL network has really gone down the shitter. I think ESPN lost me during the T.O. bullshit and now their east coast bias is over the top. SportsCenter was ruined when they started hiring more dumbasses to be funny but they weren't.

It's terrible NFLN started trying to be like ESPN when they had a good thing going. It boggles my mind to think that these ****ing execs think that sports guys WANT to tune into a sports channel to watch some wanna-be reality show.
