Well, look at the source. An idiot on a Chief's message board who thinks we should value his opinion.

Eh, i like Clay and value his opinion on various things at different times... i'll just never understand why people want to kill Smythe before he's even played a meaningful down.

Its like declaring the results of an experiment before you even begin the experiment.

He's an 8 year vet. If he has yet to play a meaningful down then that right there is why people ****ing hate him.

My guess is that this forum rep means something to guys like Clay... so he wants to be first in line to say, "I told you so.. now bow to me as a brilliant prognosticator."

Pretty sure he meant as a Chief.

I don't value Clay's opinion.

There are many here I do, his, no.

His gifs and videos are cool, his schtick is old and tired.

Smith does such a good job teaching Bray that next year we have Tyler Bray throwing it around like Dan Marino or something. :D

sorry Alex

Regardless of your position on Alex Smith as a player, almost every niner fan agrees that he'll make a fantastic coach someday.

Pretty sure I know what he meant. Still doesn't make what I said any less accurate.

How is that accurate? Playing meaningful downs?

Wouldn't any down in a playoff game, be meaningful?

How is that not meaningful?

Matt Cassel played in the playoffs. See how much I care?

STFU deadbeat.

It's amazing how polarizing Alex Smith is. Some view him as our only hope, while others think he is representative of the very problem of why we have been championshipless for so long.

Truer words were never spoken.

What's even more amazing is that he has QB'd a grand total of one pre-season drive for the Chiefs, and he is still / already that polarizing.

Quite a phenomenon. There must be some kind of scientific or psychological explanation for it.

Well it'd either make it wrong or irrelevant. I'm just not sure which.

He has played quite a few meaningful downs. Just not as a Chief... I guess you could hold that against him even though he hasn't had a chance to play a single regular season snap.

Its definitely psychological.

Team has number one pick in the draft, hasn't drafted a qb since 1983 in the first round, and they trade for a guy who was benched on another team.

Team has done retread qbs for 30 years, backlash.

Unless Alex Smith is the qb of the Chiefs and wins a super bowl, he will never be accepted by some. Now, don't get it wrong, from what I gather, the majority of Chiefs fans, are very happy to have Alex Smith. But you know what they say. The squeakiest wheels are always the loudest.....
