I bought 2 tubs that can sit on my counter. I filled them with ice and gave my elbows 2 15 minute ice baths. My arms feel slightly better.

I'm 1 week into a 3 week strength phase of my buddy's program. We're doing heavy sets of 4-6 reps. I'm really hopeful that I'll blast through a couple of plateaus when we test again. (Except cleans. I'm pissed that I had to give them up for a while.) I've noticed that I am needing a lot more sleep lately. I worked out on Saturday and then hibernated the rest of the weekend.

I beat my old max on deadlift today during my workout. I'm pretty happy with my progress during this program.

The class I've been taking has helped me quite a bit too.
It's basically 1 month of hypertrophy, 1 week deload, 1 month of endurance lifting, 1 week deload, 1 month of power/strength.... I started during the endurance phase, which ruined me. I was doing the Rippatoe Starting Strength program for way too long (5x5's) and jumping into a 4x15 program ensured that I slept well. I was literally on the verge of passing out and vomiting all over the place. It felt good. :evil: Now I'm back to the 2nd power phase and deadlifts have jumped 40lbs since the last go around. This is after being plateaued on Starting Strength for probably 6 months. |

I cut my carbs...didn't eat my own birthday cake. I walk a couple miles a day. I am down a few pounds.
