Albert was a good player.

But if this line had Stephenson starting at LT, nobody would be terribly upset Albert left. So rather than people bitch about the Chiefs not protecting their precious Branden Albert, can we please just cut the bullshit and say what you want to say? This whole conversation has NOTHING to do with cuttting Branden Albert. It has everything to do with starting Eric Fisher at LT.

That was the excuse used for Fisher all of last year, it's just as valid for Stephenson. Stephenson has been a LT almost all of his adult life.

He's been a swing tackle since he was drafted. He's not out of position.

I'm in favor of what the Chiefs are doing because I don't think Fisher will ever have the strength to handle RT but Stephenson will. I also think Fisher once he matures will have better footwork than Stephenson which is better suited for left tackle. Stephenson can handle both. The reason the starting lineup is set as it is that Fisher has no business playing right tackle.

Nice post, Reid keeps saying he's going to play the best five on the offensive line. I think he said it again yesterday. I believe him.

It has to do with both.

Time is going to prove that Stephenson is being vastly overrated by this board.

I doubt that.

He's a respectable starter. That's it. He'll never make a probowl or get a huge contract.

He's respectable.

Compared to the feast of feces that makes up the rest of the line he looks Al Pro...

I agree. People pick favorites and hate on others. Stephenson is a favorite and is vastly overrated imo.

Stephenson was Fisher his rookie year. He looked like $3it.

He came back last year and looked respectable...

He really is. The board developed an attachment to him to make getting rid of Albert "OK." He's a mental crutch.

Stephenson was also a 3rd round pick and is making peanuts.

As opposed to Fisher, who was the #1 overall pick and it making $5M a year.

Wrong.

He's a fallback plan. A much cheaper and better fallback plan than Fisher.

This. Most people who talked up Stephenson were talking about him because they would have rather had him at LT instead of Fisher.
