I'd love to make zugu as well. Authenticity and all. The wife has been trying to get me to do a chicken Alfredo style lasagna for her. I need to get that made as well.

I don't think I've ever had an Alfredo style lasagne. Please let me know how that works out! :)

I was sick for a few days during the Christmas holidays but my wife and kids went to a friends house who served pasta and chicken parm and since then, my oldest has been begging for me to make it. I prefer veal parm but I'll make it for her, if it ever cools off out here.

I keep waiting for winter to arrive to no avail...

Heh, it ain't coming bud. We had a high of 69 out here yesterday. I'm relieved, but I'm also in this shit hole. ROFL We're considering a move to Vegas this time next year, and I for one am happy to get closer back to the West coast.

Course Twelve: BBQ'd summer onion

That's just a burnt onion. Come on man, a burnt onion?

It's Denmark. I am trying to teach them about barbecue, but it's slow going. They still love pulled pork sandwiches, but pile all of the sides under the bun, so you need a damned bib to eat one.

There are so many dishes that are amazing in this world. Which reminds me! Hit me up here or on FB tomorrow and I'll send you an amazing recipe for a pasta dish we learned at a bed and breakfast in the Tuscan hillside of Greve in Chianti from a Florentine master chef.

Homemade pasta (I use a manual pasta maker) an amazing cream sauce with soft poached egg drizzled over the dish before serving. It's awesome!

Um.... Can I get a copy of that? Sounds delicious.

This. Two words: meat jelly.

I had an interesting house cured duck heart charcuterie Monday. I've had duck heart once before about a year ago, but it was the meat in a deconstructed take on a beer brat. Outstanding nonetheless. Going back to that place in a couple weeks.

My wallet's sphincter is already crinkling, but I can't wait.

Check and check.

Osso buco is one of my favorites.

The ex made a lemon curd cake once with candied violets. She said they were a pain to make and not destroy. She was not happy that I was treating them like skittles. Probably one of the reasons for the "ex" part of that equation.
