I've been to jack stack. It's good but I'm not crazy about their sauce. I would like to try Arthur Bryant but don't wa to get mugged or carjacked. Heard good things about Joes.

I went Q39 last night. Didn't have reservations but still got seated in about 30 minutes. I got pulled pork, brisket and sausage along with baked bean and fries. The pulled pork was incredible and definitely my favorite of the meats. The baked beans were very good as well, great flavor and the beans were still a little firm, not mush like some places have.

We also got the fondue appetizer which is 2 pretzel sticks and 4 apple slices to dip in some chesse. Meh.

Overall very good.

It wasn't that pricey at all, actually.

Most plates are around 15 bucks and they give you a lot of food. The full rack was the most expensive thing i saw and it was 30 bucks. I can usually eat a full rack when hungry and I barely finished half of it and half the sides (which were all amazing...BBs, pot salad, veggies).

Well... that's pricey compared to other BBQ joints. You can get a full rack just about anywhere else for $18-25. Not pricey like a steakhouse or anything. But it is the most expensive BBQ in town. Not exactly a negative though, as it's worth it.

Jack Stack sauce makes the word "meh" say "meh"

I agree. I have got to give this place a try. PM me sometime. We'll plan it.

1) You shouldn't have noted that; now Reaper will go launch an RPG at the joint before I get to feast there.

2) I swear to all that is holy, we had the best BBQ baked beans on all of God's earth when I worked at Bobby Bells as a kid. Slow cooked with brown sugar, molasses, and rub, then the cooks would chop-up the ends of the brisket, sausage, and ham, mix it in, and let it get nice and thick in serving pot.

I hear ya on the burnt ends being cubed. But who, other than Gates, doesn't cube it? My favorite burnt ends are Gates because theirs is pulled not cubed.

That's definitely not cubed brisket. At least not like they serve at Jack Stack's.
