You act like it's ****ing easy.
When you're down in the count, you're protecting the plate. You're in swing mode. It isn't as if there's a mechanism in Moose's brain that says "this pitch is a ball so don't swing" as soon as the pitcher releases the ball. It's not a video game. For Moose to battle that AB out through 12 pitches and then win that battle with a go-ahead homer.. to not accept that as good I just have no idea anymore.
Moose has shown more patience at the plate today than anyone else on either team.

Double down on it Pete.

You're saying that trading a BB for a HR is what you prefer. Something has punctured your blood brain barrier. Did you dig real deep in your nose today?

Moose just wasted all those potential walks.

You're looking into things way too much. Moose was competing, and sometimes, that means swinging at pitcher's pitches because you don't want to go down when you think you can make contact and avoid it. Not every hitter can instantly tell where every pitch is, and most will swing if it's close and 2 strikes.

baitism 07-17-2015 02:30 PM

Slower than Billay?

WilliamTheIrish 07-17-2015 02:31 PM

Those 30 pitches are "totally unacceptable baseball".

I already said he batteled and the outcome is good ...but swinging at 7 pitches out of the zone doesn't say much for plate discipline..does it?

Yesm he hit a HR but most times that ends in an out and you know this

Demonpenz 07-17-2015 02:34 PM

good plays are made because people are slow as ****.

petegz28 07-17-2015 02:36 PM

If Moose swung at 7 pitches out of the zone and ended up striking out or hitting a weak grounder you guys would be bitching about him not taking the walk...William "20-20 hindsight" Irish would most likely be leading the way

BWillie 07-17-2015 02:38 PM

4-2 going to Madson, Herrera, Davis, Holland. Cool, games over. I'll tune in at 7pm for Game 2.
