Just had a busy evening. Yes I missed the team signup, but have since kept an eye on the draft forum. My PM’s are on and TambaBerry has been notified. |

The Cincinnati Bengals select Kenyon Green, Guard, Texas A&M.
Obviously we needed to get more protection for Burrow. Hoped for a tackle but none fell that had the value so we plug in one of the best guards. |

Shit. Take Sam Williams or Jahan Dotson or Pitre or Cine. All make more sense to me. |
I would have gone with Thomas, Brisker, Cine or a CB like Gordon.

To be specific, I would’ve taken Lewis Cine.
Talked about it in the other thread, but I just keep coming back around to this big athletic freak of a safety. These are the kinds of bets you make picking at the end of the 1st. A lot can change before the draft, and I’m sure I’ll change my mind 100 times, but that’s who I’d take right now. When you start collecting young guys like Bolton, Gay, Sneed, and Cine, you start to build an identity on defense. Fast, physical, instinctive. Then immediately get in the phone and start looking to trade up for one of the edge rushers. |
The Detroit Lions select , Nakobe Dean, ILB , Georgia
Why not get the main man for the best defense in the country. Lions need playmakers on the D side and continue the makeover of the Defense with this run stopper. |
I knew it wouldn't be a very popular pick, the Chiefs couldn't stop the run he would help there. We can use him to generate a pass rush. I thought about Cine but I looked at the bills who have two amazing safeties and the Chiefs still did whatever they want at will against them because they couldn't get pressure. The way the board fell and who was all available at the pick I went with who I think is by far the best player available. He could be on the same level as Leonard and Warner. That would elevate this defense.

That’s fair. I just read that board a lot different. I don’t know that I buy Lloyd as a true 3-down guy who covers like a safety at the NFL level (like Leonard and Warner do). Also: stopping the run is not all that important anymore. As long as you can defend the pass and pressure the QB… |

As for Lloyd - I don't dislike the pick in a vacuum. If Thomas is off the board, Lloyd is probably my guy (as I noted in my 'uh oh' draft). But with Thomas there, I just wouldn't be able to pass on him. I do think there's something to be said for getting 'best of breed' at any position this late in the 1st round. And I do think Lloyd qualifies there. But ultimately the need at DE is just too great and Thomas is a very good prospect in his own right. He'd have definitely been my pick. |

1st round guard - blech. I liked Johnson's feet and functional strength more than Green here. I know Green seems to be the consensus top G in this draft but I just think Johnson brings a much broader tool set to the table. I think he'll be able to do anything you ask of a guard whereas I think Green may be a little more scheme specific. Not knowing how long Arians intends to coach or what the Bucs will even be in a post-Brady world, I had to have a guy that can be anything I need him to be at that position going forward. I just don't buy the consensus opinion right now - I think Johnson's the better bet. |
you can use Lloyd as an edge rusher like the Cowboys do Parsons. He has a ton of flexibility. It won't matter though he will be long gone before the Chiefs pick. I am almost certain one of those edge rushers that was taken here will be there when the Chiefs pick.

Nobody is going to be used like Parsons. He's just too damn fast, too damn strong. Lloyd's a nice player and an interesting option as a rusher, but he ain't Parsons. I think your best comp is maybe someone like Daryl Washington? Washington was a very capable off-ball backer w/ solid coverage skills who could also get after the passer from several different locations. Maybe an Avery Williamson type? But if everything goes according to script with him, I think Daryl Washington is your best case scenario. And yeah, that would be a hell of a player to get. |
Look at Staylor throwing guys out of the draft and then not getting his shit fixed so he can make his pick.
What a douche. |
