If this team could somehow clean up the mistakes, then they have a fighter's chance. That, however, doesn't seem to be possible which is why I've pretty much written them off as any sort of contender this season.

It seems as though in every play we run offensively there is some sort of breakdown. One play the WRs don't get open. The next is the O-line whiffs. The next Pat is so flustered by the first two outcomes that he's not reading the field and seeing ghosts. And if all those things disappear, there's a penalty or turnover. It's abysmal in every possible way. I don't know that there is any clear solution outside of hitting the reset button. Veach needs to focus on making Pat comfortable again. Let the chips defensively fall where they may and live with the outcome.

Yeah basically. Maybe we go through a freak phase during the playoffs where turnovers go our way and we end up +2 or 3 turnovers every game and just get real lucky but that's about it.

To answer the question in the OP the offense is underachieving for a variety of reasons but I don't see them turning it around. The biggest issue is the turnovers but they can't fix that without fixing what's causing the underachieving.

OP good post and hard to argue with any of it. The entire year has been off.

This team just doesn't have the fire this year. Mahomes has taken a step back, every time the camera pans in on Kelce, he has a I don't give a shit look and some of these play calls are crazy. Add to that all the turnovers and drops and it's ugly. It's a shame to waste a defense this good, because the offense can't get its shit together. It's going to be an early exit in the playoffs and I excepted that weeks ago. It is what it is. Grab some decent WR's, tweak to OL and we will be back in business.

lol the infuriating thing is this team would have 1 loss if they could consistently score 23 points per game

Another issue is 34 year old TE’s usually suck. Time catches up to us all. No other threat so they gang up on Kelce.

It's the "no other threat" part that's the biggie. That, and Nagy is ass.

It's absurd how bad they can be and still be so close to winning pretty much every game... hell, this game should have been 7-6 at the end of 3 and even with two defensive touchdowns against, they still had a shot at the end.

Yep... and to my point above, the offense doesn't even need to be good, and that's the real shitty part. We talk about cleaning up all the shit, but FFS clean up a little and you're a top 5 team in the league, even if you're still leading the league in dropped passes and committing some offensive line penalties and so forth.

That face mahomes made when he was yelling “goddamnit…” last week. That was the same face we saw all game long. Never seen that from mahomes since the days when he was dealing with being a new first time dad.

And that look on kelces face looks like pure exhaustion. In hindsight we should’ve known something was off when he was getting in fights with teammates in practice. Which pisses me off more that we saw that and decided we were still gonna run our offense around triple coverage in kelce

They definitely don't have that eye of the tiger. Other teams are hungrier and it shows.

Not going to happen.

Maybe quit making TV commercials and focus on discipline, health, and coaching. Maybe...
