So if Cassel had competition he'd be good? Cassel made Orton look like Dan Marino

Your grasp of logic is lacking.

Seems much more likely that if Cassel had competition he'd be working the fry station.

No, probably not, but maybe the Chiefs would have felt more comfortable benching him if they had a legit backup.

Fair enough. As far as this year I don't see how they can't do everything they can to get at least the #2 pick.

This might be off topic --I came across this illustration of Super Bowl winning quarterbacks. However, I'm not saying drafting a quarterback in the first round guarantees a team success. I did find it interesting 'no passing yardage leader has ever won a Super Bowl.'

18 out of the last 21 super bowl winner were franchise qb's. Rypien i included, because that year, the Redskins offense was breaking records left n right.

Hey Scott! Matt Cassel doesn't make me orgasm.

I'm still waiting, Scott

That's pretty interesting, Ms. Dylan.

I would assume that the "passing yardage" issue has to do with that team's rushing attack?

Also, am I reading the crazy jersey chart correctly? Montana is the only 3x Super Bowl MVP? And Rapetheburgers has never been a SB MVP?

Stafford will be the Super Bowl MVP soon

Potentially. That team still has a lot of work to do.

just save that graphic and post it anytime someone suggests drafting OL in the First.

So by this logic, if we reach for Tannenhill in the first then he becomes a SB QB?

Mr. Fax: For some reason, I was thinking most passing yards in a regular season. Thanks!

Three. Montana was MVP of Super Bowls XVl, XlX, and XXlV.

2006 Super Bowl XL MVP: Hines Ward Wide receiver
Quote:

Antwaan Randle El, a quarterback in college, took a handoff from Parker, sprinted right and threw perfectly to Ward for a 43-yard TD with 9:04 remaining. It was the first Super Bowl touchdown pass by a receiver.
So did quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. The most noteworthy play for the youngest quarterback to win a Super Bowl was a horrid pass that Kelly Herndon of the Seahawks (15-4) returned a record 76 yards.

The 23-year-old Roethlisberger achieved it more with his legs than his arm. He converted enough second-half first downs to wind down the clock.
2009 Super Bowl XLlll MVP: Santonio Holmes Wide receiver
Quote:

On the Steelers' title-clinching drive, Holmes made his picturesque touchdown catch with three Cardinals around him, jumping to make the catch and somehow keeping both feet in bounds.

It was the type of catch to make Steelers great Lynn Swann proud. And the thing that made Holmes shake his head was not the difficulty of the reception, but rather how many of his friends and teammates had predicted it.
Only seven wide receivers have been named MVP in Super Bowl history.
