The Jimmy Johnson tweet bugs me the most...
He isn't just some guy like "omar." Rather, he is a former coach who I am certain knows individuals beyond the limits which the local media can reach at the Dolphins organization... :( |
Yeah I'm sure amongst all the insiders and writers, Jimmy Johnson is the one who knows where Manning is going...lol don't think so.

You think it is absurd to think that Jimmy Johnson may have access to some information that the local media doesn't have access to? |

Even his tweet sounded like speculation. |

I think he's just taking media reports and the fact that Peyton lives down there. If his report really had any merit, you'd think that Schefter would have reported the same today. |
We had 2 inches of snow in KC this year. It hasn't exactly been a freezing winter here this year.

Speaking of weather...
Arrowhead Pride @ArrowheadPride Close FWIW, on all this talk about Manning wanting to play in good weather...reader points out Feb. 05 Manning appearance on Letterman..(cont) Arrowhead Pride @ArrowheadPride Close In 2005: "I'd rather play outdoors if I had my choice. It's kinda where football is supposed to be played." OK, 6 year old quote. Arrowhead Pride @ArrowheadPride Close Readers tracking down 7 year old Manning quotes on Letterman....yeah, must be free agency. |

Sorry, but when I think of Chiefs football, I want there to be a nip in the air. Best fall football days. Hell, some of the best times I've ever had at Arrowhead, I nearly froze to death. |
Jason La Canfora @JasonLaCanfora Close
Believe it or not, I'll be updating the Peyton Manning quest at 7ET on Total Access, and touching on some other big-name free agents as well I don't have NFLN sooo.... |
I have it. I'll be all over it, just keep reminding me.

I went to the opener last year. The weather was the best part about that wretched game. |

There. I just saved you a ton of time. You're welcome. |

Last years playoff game was perfect for football at Arrowhead. |
There is the rumor now that Manning wants to play in a warm weather environment.
You never can tell how much of this shit is real or not. But everyone EVERYONE seems to think it's Miami and no one else. |

But...I don't have NFLN, so it wasn't going to be wasting my time nonetheless. |

Not sure what NFLN is good for anymore. |
I'm glad I got rid of cable.

It's ridiculous. |
Has anyone been listening to 810 the last 20 minutes or so....?
The old man said he heard them say that Mannings Agent is in town. I wan't to make sure that wasn't stated before I start to tease for being old and crazy. |

Does anyone know how incentives work w/ regard to the cap? Example: if a player has an incentive that he earns x amount for playing 16 games, does that count against the cap?
|
For those saying money would be a major factor in Mannings decision, why would he turn the Redskins down then?
|
So is it confirmed that Mannings agent is actually in KC?
Maybe the deal was secretly done a month or so ago when whoever said the Chiefs were talking to Condon? |
Quote:
Doesn't want to play Eli twice a year. Doesn't want to go through Brady. They're the ones that got him hurt in the first place. Yadda Yadda Yadda. But I don't think money is Manning's #1 motivating factor. |
Quote:
That's a big reason teams are allowed to roll over cap dollars from one year to the next. If your players don't achieve their incentives, that's basically unused cap space and the league is allowing you to sound that kind of money the following year. |

Maybe that gives us the advantage. He can tell Peyton which bbq is the best. |
BTW Condon played for the Chiefs back in the day.

That's actually a card that works in Miamis favor. They can structure it with a low base, but incentives that allow the team to exceed the salary cap once they are achieved. I guess we could out that to use, too....but I don't know enough of the details to know exactly which incentives you can use that allow you to exceed the cap and how we could take advantage of that without screwing ourselves in future years. Sign a few big ticket free agents and Peyton but work the deals so that they would have lots of incentives worked into them that would allow us to go over the cap. Front load them to an extent and make the incentives that are easily achievable worked in and push it to the limit in full blown win now mode....hahaha Then, we wake up and have to try and get worked up about Kyle Orton. |
The other end of that is that teams also MUST spend 99% of the cap in CASH spending.
I wonder how much CASH we have committed to current deals. |
If Clark wanted too, he could increase the amount it costs to buy those luxury boxes to the amount it would take to pay Mannings contract, sign the guy and make up all the money.
Businesses and the rich in KC would pay out the ass to get those boxes if 18 is tossing the ball around on Sundays. |
Throw it all at him
|
Fine with me.

According to this guy the Chiefs offered Manning a contract.
https://twitter.com/#!/BrandonSpano/...67334324047872 BREAKING: Source says that the Chiefs were the ONLY team to offer a completed contract to Peyton Manning today. Says they are most prepared |

For the 2011 season, the Chiefs were well above 89%. Clark told the Star a few weeks ago that it will never be a problem. |
