ISU has a much easier schedule going forward and OSU is basically a shell team of what we thought they were going to be. If ISU wins this game, they still have a chance to come back for conference. OSU doesn't.

Not easy to win on the road. KU isn't exactly some kind of dominating force this year.

Truth. Texas ran through Kansas like a freight train through a pile duck feathers. Kansas has a 50/50 shot at Baylor.

Maybe slightly better than that, but I wouldn't go too much further. KU at its best can beat Baylor anywhere, but we rarely see KU at its best over a full game.

KU has 5 road games left (Baylor, KSU, OSU, Tech, WVU). Going 3-2 over that stretch would be great. Going 2-3 probably wins them the conference anyway (assuming they can win all the games at home).

If you assume ISU wins all their home games and their road game at TCU, they're at 11 wins. They then have games at WVU, KSU, and Baylor. They could conceivably get to 14 still, but more likely 12 or 13. Puts a bit more pressure on KU.

OSU meanwhile will be struggling to maintain a .500 record in conference with that team of theirs now.

On Smart flopping, yeah, if you can sell it when you're beat, fine. But he far to often does it when he's got position on a guy that the disparity on the athleticism is too great for the other kid to overcome. As a result he takes a gamble on a flop and the official calling it rather than the much higher probability of finishing the play positively. Especially of offense. He'll sell out on a flop when if he just would have went to the basket he would have scored or gotten fouled or both. He does it on the defensive end too. Against guys that have very little shot of scoring on him. It's mind boggling.
