The Royals shouldn’t have signed those useless vets! They need to be focusing on prospects!!!
*Sees Jon Jay’s Wal-Mart contract traded for a legitimately exciting prospect* *shrugs* |

To try to flip them for whatever value they could get. The Jon Jay return was a very nice one considering his cost and the upside of Elvis Luciano (heck, even getting a few years of average RP from the lefty would pay off that deal). If they’re not blocking someone, there’s only upside. |
I don't understand why no one wants moose. A guy that will hit 30+ hrs, bat .260-270 with good def at 3b and a cheap salary.

You can't really have it both ways. People complain that guys like Orlando and Almonte get so much playing time, then others complain that we signed a guy like Jon Jay. Well which is it? You can't just stop fielding a major league team.
The reality is they haven't drafted as well as they should have. It's also the reality that they sacrificed some of the talent they did have to try and win now. And some of it was bad luck. This team today could be fielding a rotation of Ventura, Duffy, Manaea, Junis with Keller, Strahm and Herrera closing games out. Or maybe you put Strahm in the rotation, or have Cody Reed waiting in the wings. Everyone would feel a lot better about this team's prospects in that case. |
