I would hate a corner pick at 31.

Our defense doesn't need elite corners. We need more pass rush and 1 3 down lb.

It's also a position that Veach keeps finding cheap value at.

We’re losing Breeland most likely and Baker is coming back from an injury.

We’re one injury away from having an issue at DB.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan on spending big resources on a CB. It's so hard to play that position with the rules these days, I'd just keep doing what your doing there.

The entire defense revolves around the defensive backfield. We need pass rushers, yes, but there is no more important position in this defense than DB.

Safeties are far more important to us.

Smoke screen. And Ruiz sucked ****ing ass last year, worse than Wylie.

I tend to think Breeland re-signs with the Chiefs.

He's been with them for 2 seasons and has played really well. The Chiefs stuck with him during his ridiculous 2020 offseason and he'll be 29.9 years old to start the season, so I doubt there will be a huge contract waiting for him in free agency.

I woudln't be opposed to the Chiefs giving him a 2 year deal or so this time.

If Breeland leaves there should be a few bargain vets out there just as good.

A first round pick is the opposite of "big resources". The pick itself has value but a big part of that value is having a high-dollar position like CB locked up on a rookie salary for the next 5 years.

More important than CB's? Sure. But CB's are much more important the LB's in this defense.

We are doing great acquiring playable cb's at value.

We don't need lbs but every team could use at least 1 3 down eraser. We don't have that.

We also need pass rush.

I doubt it, especially those willing to play at bargain basement prices.

Breeland's re-signing should be a priority.

We don’t need LBs? In what ****ing bizarro world is that statement true?

We have Hitchens and Gay....and that’s it. We absolutely need another LB.

We NEED whatever the draft board has available. If that's DE, CB, LB, OT, WR, or whatever, we shouldn't let the draft board be completely dictated by happenstance.

Just because you'e been successful at acquiring cheap help at CB means you abandon the other options for acquiring them.

I mean, we got Wharton as a UDFA so maybe we shouldn't spend high draft picks on DL either, right?

We don't need LB's as much as we need other positions, I think that was his point. Since he went on to say we need a 3-down LB in the very next sentence. ;)
