There were others coming in making their points related to the ending as well, and on the same things I commented on. The reason the book came up was because I wanted to get it to read through to the end and found it wasn't completely written.

Yes, I understand all that. I've read all the posts. Enjoy the thread.

It doesn't bother me, but if you're going to plow ahead like that, you've got to be prepared to face a bit of ridicule or criticism.

This.

I don't have anything against Buc. I avoid DC like the plague.

One of my biggest pet peeves is reading through a thread and someone jumping in posting info that has already been posted and discussed prior. If people are not going to bother to catch themselves up on the conversation, why should I bother listening?

And since I'm venting on pet peeves, if someone can't bother to post a brief statement about what they're linking to, why the hell should anyone bother clicking the link? Common courtesy people!

:)

I posted earlier in the thread that I had only recently started this series and was binge watching it. In fact, posted what seasons I was on and catching up. Then I finally caught up to everyone and said so using other words.

It's a long thread. It happens in long threads.

Believe it or not, I can understand that if it was said in a friendlier tone, because I've been annoyed by that in other long threads. My experience is that it happens in long threads though.

Have they announced who the spin off shows would be on? I can't imagine one won't be on the events of the Trident.

Honestly, I just skimmed your posts. I absolutely hate the Bran = NK theory. I think it's stupid and the logic behind it just as dumb. I just thought I'd climb on to the hate train for the chance to bitch.

:)

FatAss is also soon to be writing a book about the history of the Targaryens so that could be fertile ground as well, Aegon the Conqueror and all that. But I agree, the first thing I think of is Robert's Rebellion.

I thought they might be opening the door to that when Meera said she was going home to be with her family. However, as someone else stated, if questioned Bran can just pull some super-personal thing out of someone's past to prove he is all-knowing. Connect that with Sam finding the scroll about Rhaegar marrying Lyanna, and you probably have enough to be convincing.

I would have liked the Reeds to be a bigger part of the show, always liked the Crannogmen in the books. Meera is one of my favorite characters. There were some far-flung theories that maybe she and Jon were twins.

I won't hold my breath waiting for that one.

Howland Reed should make an appearance. If they want to resolve the CotF vs. Night King story, he will be needed. Nobody in the story right now knows anything about the magic the children have been using and my guess is there are a few children left and they are going to try to use magic again in a big way to protect themselves. Their past uses of magic have been devastating (arm of dorne, the neck, the white walkers, possibly even the long night) and are the reason the world is off balance. It will take a counter measure against that magic, or a correct use of the magic to end all of this. Blood magic is a bitch though and only Jon's blood can balance everything back out. I hope he doesn't have to sacrifice himself, but if he does, I hope he does it knowing everything. He will need Howland Reed, Melisandre (especially if she is really Shiera Seastar and Bloodraven's daughter,) Bran, and Sam to bring this history to light. see what I did there? :)

I think its pretty obvious that Martin is waiting to finish his book after he sees how the fans liked the shows version. He will probably end up changing a lot of what he said he would.

I think he's just a procrastinating old fart. And I also don't think he gives a damn what anybody else thinks about anything.

I disagree. I think he is going to change the books for the sake of changing it so he can say "SEE I'm the genius here"

The seventh book will never get written, at least not by him.
