They're not giving up a 1st, so it's pretty pointless to be debating a hypothetical situation that won't happen.

You know using the the ole brain and you can know these things too.

It's like the Interwebs and Google don't exist...

How do you know that?

Yeah, of course I'd take Earl over those guys. I'd take him over a lot of guys in the league right now, he's probably one of the best 10 guys in the league.

I get it. Its not as cut and dry though as that.

Theres a lot of factors. What you have to give up is just one. As we've seen in Seattle, when you go continually chasing and giving up picks, you can get wonky pretty quick. I also understand "no Sb in 50 years, who cares about the future" stuff as well so I won't get to wrapped up in that.

Then theres his age, his recent injury history and the new contract.

It's definitely a risk. Big reward if he's stays healthy and plays well but it's a risk.

Which is pretty short-sighted. We really need more Dee Ford's. Worth their weight in...oh, never mind...

I doubt they wanna go 2 straight years without a first round pick. That's a lot of potential cheap value and labor.

If we could draft a player where we are in the first this year that is a Dee Ford type player, yeah, i'd be pretty happy with that.

His issue is staying healthy.

I get crushing the Chiefs defensive drafts and such, they've not been very good.

But looking at the last couple first rounds, once you do get to the end of it, it gets pretty meh dicey.

When I'm sick, I don't need to be a Dr. to know I'm sick.

I am not the one claiming to know what the Chiefs can or cant do. Mecca says that if the chiefs want to get this done no matter how the numbers are now and in the future they can do it. That just gives him more room to bitch and moan if it doesnt get done. When I see one of these big moves very seldom work out for the Chiefs I would be reluctant if I was the Chiefs too.

You can't just says "he's good when he's healthy".

He's never healthy. Therefore he's not good.

I think the pick will be low enough, the fact they have 2 2nd rounders might make it feasible to give up their first.

I'm guessing contract demand is the hang up. They are probably debating spending $22MM+ a year on the safety position.

If they think Berry is going to be healthy (they obviously have more insight than we do) it makes it a bit tougher to lose the pick and the $$.

He's played, therefore he's been healthy.

Because cheap labor is better than good labor. The Chiefs are the Little Caesar's of football...

Red Dawg 09-26-2018 08:50 AM

This isn't happening. No chance in hell and it shouldn't happen. They want to much and he only wants Dallas.
