I have a 75th Anniversary Elway jersey... and barring getting a new one as a gift, that's the last one I'll have.

I wheedled a beautiful Larry Johnson All Star jersey out of a drunk man for a low price.

I hate him. I've never worn it.

I agree. I've been saying this for years. I love TG but he has hurt the over all offense developement for the last few years. WR specifically.

Really? You don't blame the former GM/HCs for not building a better group of WRs around him?

If Pioli trades Gonzo I will lose confidence in his decision making ability. Gonzo will be more valuable to our offense than anybody they can pick in the draft.

The Chiefs rejected a 2nd round pick? Wow. I guess they don't want to completely hamstring Cassel. Too bad for Tony.

We don't know what has happened and anyone that claims to know what Pioli is doing behind the scenes is BS'ing.

Wait to see what happens. I'd say with his past history and his one draft/trade he has made here warrants us being patient and that we will get the best deal. For crissakes there were calls for an investigation because we got such a good deal on the Cassel trade.

I no longer have any jerseys. I had a Priest and an LJ. My brother now has them both.

If he can do better than a 2nd round pick for a TE with 2 years left then he should be GM of the year.

I don't want to see Tony go. Losing him really hurts the offense. However, getting a second round pick for him is pretty damn good. We used a first on him and in return he gave us 85 - 90 percent of his career. A HOF career. Getting a second after all that for him isn't too bad.

As much as I would hate to see Tony go, you have to ask yourself this question.

Would you trade your second round pick for Tony Gonzales knowing he had 1 maybe 2 years in the tank? If the answer is no, then that means you would take the 2nd for Tony.

At this late stage in Tonys carreer it's about return on investment. Not one good year from a player.

morphius 04-14-2009 08:44 AM

I could at least stomach a second for him, a late third rounder to me was a joke.

FWIW:

According to this Pioli has REJECTED the 55 offer.

http://www.arrowheadpride.com/2009/4...cons-offer-for

Frank Boal of FOX4 in Kansas City is reporting the Kansas City Chiefs have rejected a trade offer from the Atlanta Falcons for tight end Tony Gonzalez. The offer was for the Falcons' 55th overall pick according to Michael Lombardi of the National Football Post.

*Boal rarely breaks news about the Chiefs and the rest of the mainstream media hasn't picked up on this yet so we're certainly going to continue following this story until we can get another confirmation.

Rumors have been swirling that the Chiefs were nearing a deal with someone to move Gonzalez. The basis of some of these rumors? Gonzalez cleaning out his locker.

We'll never know if the future Hall of Fame tight end was simply cleaning out his locker before the start of the Chiefs first veteran mandatory mini-camp on April 17th or if he removed his belongings with the intention that he wouldn't be back.

If the GM Scott Pioli values Gonzalez more than the Falcons' second round pick then it's unlikely any team in the NFL will match his price. The overlord of the previous Chiefs regime, Carl Peterson, reportedly pushed his asking price from a third to a second and fifth round pick at the trading deadline last year.

We can debate about Gonzalez's worth all day long but he's worth whatever any team will offer him. If the offers that came in last season (Eagles' 3rd, Giants' 6th) are any indication, Tony Gonzalez will not be traded by the Chiefs this season.

We used more than a first on Gonzo, try a 3rd round pick as well to move up to get him.
