Micah Johnson really hurt himself. He ran a 4.99 and 5.00. He was also really stiff.

He's probably a 5th rounder right now.

Thomas and Troup both looked agile in the 3 cone drill.

Wow. Suh faster than a linebacker?

Sucks to be him.

He's probably faster than Spikes, too.

I'd love to see players that didn't "measure up" who are big time players... and vice versa.

Ultimately, the thing that bothers me the most about someone who doesn't run or participate in drills isn't the fact that they would run slow. Yes, it would hurt them. Is it a crushing blow? No, but it does give insight to their schematic limitations.

The thing that concerns me is that it shows a lack of competitiveness. I don't know if I want guys like that on my team.

If you aren't fast, fine. If you don't have fluid hips, then we'll make adjustments. But if you are afraid to compete, then you can **** right off.

As far as I'm concerned, from a football perspective that's the biggest red flag you can have.

You heard it folks. At no time would Hamas want DeAngelo Williams, Frank Gore, Roddy White, Antrel Rolle, Justin Tuck and others on his team.

Some players (Demaryius Thomas, Jimmy Clausen, etc.) have legitimate injuries

Others are dodging the combine to inflate their draft stock (Bryant, Spikes, McClain)

It's not surprising that you are rushing to the defense of a Gator, though.

For guys like Roddy White, who missed b/c of a slight hamstring injury, I'd definitely dock him.

You are expected to play when you are banged up. If you are interviewing for a job, you don't cancel the interview when you have a head cold.

So you would not want DeAngelo Williams or Roddy White on your football team?

Anyone know if Berry is expected to go through all the drills tomorrow?

He better. I don't see why he wouldn't. Tomorrow will be my favorite day of the combine. I love this years secondary players.

If there were questions about their speed and they didn't run, then no, but there weren't questions about that.

The questions about Williams were based on his small size, and for White, the level of competition he faced.

There will always be exceptions to every rule, I'm not an absolutist, but if someone has concerns about an aspect of their ability, and they purposely dodge that evaluation, then I don't want that guy on my team.

Mecca 03-01-2010 05:33 PM

Apparently Jeremiah agrees with Hamas...

Lots of scouts down on McClain for bailing on the workout/40- ? his competitiveness and speed...
