If you can't find a ride from someone else, I might be able to help. It would be a tough fit though. I'm planning on drinking so my girlfriend and I are being dropped off by my mother in a pick-up. If you're fine riding in the bed then it may work. Where in independence do you live?

I just looked at it, it's a ways down winner but I just drove over from St Louis and am staying at my parents up by the airport. Comparatively, it doesn't seem all that far out of my way.

I did. And I have helped numerous buddies do the same. Taken TONS of collect calls when parents wouldnt, places to stay upon release. Jobs. Been burnt by good friends but know what a bitch drugs are.
