All of the most successful QB's in the NFL are cocky assholes. Do you think that for one minute, Joe Montana, Dan Marino and John Elway weren't cocky assholes? Hell, Marino still IS a cocky asshole.

Good thing Carolina didn't listen to all to all the "experts".

Dude.....Cam Newton was NOT elite coming out of college.

If Geno's going 1.1, we're not drafting him.

Interesting.

Then how did he throw for 4,051 yards and 21 TD's his rookie season of 2011?

So six weeks of training camp with Mike Shula as his QB coach made him elite? Hire Mike Shula, asap!

No, don't hire Mike Shula. He sucks ass.

actually, they are crediting his work with chris weinke, just like they talked up geno smith, for his work with chris weinke. Apparently, now chris weinke is the qb whisperer. Took, Mike Mayock from stating that geno smith should go in the late first at earliest, to stating he will be a top 10 pick, from the combine, to the pro day.

Ummmm....considering I'm talking about him as a college QB. He was never viewed as an "elite" QB coming out of college.

Cam Newton had awesome athletic ability. But he also is dumb as **** when it comes to a playbook and he's got a 10 cent head when it comes to off the field stuff.

Hammock Parties 03-19-2013 12:30 PM

Cam Newton had eleventy billion questions as a passer coming out.

Far more than Geno.

RunKC 03-19-2013 12:32 PM

Cam did things in college that Geno couldn't dream of doing.

royr17 03-19-2013 12:41 PM

Well kiss geno goodbye, a few teams have already expressed their interest in trading for the # 1 overall pick with the chiefs according to Andy Reid.

Cam was asked to do things that Geno wasn't.

Then why was he taken #1 overall and why was he able to set the rookie passing record?

Clearly, anyone that said he wasn't "Elite" was a dumb****. It's exactly what happened to Marino, where people "claimed" he had issues and slipped to #27 overall.

Fortunately for Newton, Carolina ignored all the bullshit and took him #1 overall, anyway.

How awesome would it be if Dane was Danny Elfman, and that unbeknownst to all of us Elfman was not only an excellent composer and talented musician, but an irascible, passionate Chiefs fan?

Cam has far more physically ability and size than Geno Smith will ever have.

The ability to run a straight-line 4.59 does not give someone vision to see the field, run for 22 TD's or allude would-be tacklers. Newton is also 6'6, 250 pounds.

Smith will never be 6'6.
