He did what he was asked to do.

So did the defense (and we did much better than I thought we would.)

Andy's stupid play calling/decision making lost us the Titans game.

It still makes me so sick it's why I haven't been here since then...

It was a collective team loss.

The defense allowed them to run the ball down our throats for a buck50 and for 2 scores. That first score was odd...I was at the game and the Arrowvision replay showed him to be at least a yd short. Never did watch this shitfest when I got home so maybe there was a better angle. They probably would have scored the next play. I didn't watch any football or ESPN nothing when I got home, I was too ****ing pissed off.

BUT

The only 2 defensive stats that matter are turnover ratio and defense ppg allowed. This team normally clamps down on defense inside the redzone, and will either come up w/ a turnover or we'll force them to just a FG. They bend but they don't break. Defense only gave up 19pts at home. That should be enough to win.

BUT

We have Alex Smith as QB, and Andy Reid calling our plays and managing the game, field position battle, timeouts etc. All of which Reid sucks at. The combination of both leads to stalling drives and piss poor conservative dink n dunk play calling. Alex used to make up for his shortcomings in the passing game by running for 5-6yds here and there picking up first downs, moving the chains. Smith usually was good for about 30-40yds a game rushing. spread out over the course of the game, that could have been at least 5-6 1st down conversions, moving the chains etc. But ever since the Indy game where he got knocked silly something happened...either his wife is telling him to stop running or the coaching staff is telling him to stop running. Wife's probably get into players ears at home. Julie Green wanted Trent to retire after he was knocked senseless in that home opener 2006 game vs the Bengals. No reason why Smith's wife would be any different esp w/ the concussion prevention epidemic going on right now. But bashing Smith is like beating a dead horse. He's Matt Cassel v2.0. We'll never win anything serious w/ the guy...sure as **** won't make it to the SB w/ him. People think he can just flip a switch and have a game like he did in the 2014 Indy game. That was ultimately the best game of Smith's career, even though we lost. He played flawless. But for every "good" game there are about 20 underwhelming performances by Smith. Colin Kaepernick now has more TD's than Smith. And has played in (I think) 4 less games maybe? Cant remember fully but you can remember when Kaep was benched early to midway through the season, meanwhile Alex gets smacked around in Indy and racks up 3nOuts, stalls drives, and fluffs his completion % up w/ short dink n dunk plays. Not only has Kaep thrown for more TD's than Alex, but Smith is now underperforming Matt Cassel. Ridiculous.

In addition to Alex Smith's failures...Reid gets bad tunnel vision. Why stop giving the ball to Tyreek Hill, he already broke one wide open, and the Titans said earlier in the wk that they have no god damn idea how to stop Hill. So Reid.....stops giving him the ball after that big TD run? wtf? And why did we all of a sudden stop giving Kelce the ball? Sorry but Maclin should be #3 option on offense at this point. He hasn't been doing shit anyways this season, although this past game he wasn't bad. But his touches take away from plays to Kelce and Hill. Some major retooling of the offense has to be done.

Chiefs need to run the ball A LOT better. That's the other half of it. Alex Smith/Reid..and then the running game, which currently isn't doing Smith any favors. Ware, West, and the Oline need to get their shit together.

Como is right... The strength of this offense and what made it respectable last year was the run game. And now it's a below average unit.

That comment wasn't meant to say Alex Smith is to blame for everything. It was to point out TigerUppercuts pattern of not just refusing to criticize Alex Smith, but throwing others under the bus in the process. Usually the defense.

TEAMS DARE ALEX SMITH TO BEAT THEM WITH HIS ARM.

You can hear opposing teams talk about it.
They focus on taking away the run game. It's simple.

The run game is not going to get better until Alex can start beating people, and if Andy Reid is going to keep calling horizontal plays... this offense is going nowhere.

Except the past few games, it's not like Reid is pumping the brakes in the second half or Alex Smith is checking down everything. Against Atlanta, he turned the ball over twice so the Chiefs had no choice but to go conservative. Against Tennessee we drove all the way downfield only to get picked off in the end zone. Even when we attack, for some weird reason when we protect the lead, Alex Smith loses his ****ing mind. It almost makes me not want to jump out to quick leads which is sad I have to even say that. The combo of Alex and Andy making mistakes when we protect leads is a comedy of errors.

It IS quite the anomaly. The SAFE QB throwing picks in that situation. It's like my golf game. When I lay up and then 3 putt.

I'm sure there was a reason for the pick. Ya see, Alex Smith has this thing called "hidden gigabytes." He KNEW that if he were to throw a TD on that play, Marc Mariani would respond by taking a kick return to the house...and damaging the confidence of our special teams unit!! It was a battle for field goal position. He knew that a 40 yard field goal would make Cairo Santos' fantasy owners more happy with him than if he were to kick a 15-20 harder...Alex is very unselfish...and has hidden gigabytes.

Don't fall for that BS man. That's what he wants you to think. And I can prove it if you'll bear with me.
The tale of the tape and the story of the stats. Alex Smith is all about his stats. Think about this, how many times have you seen him set the punter up ? I'm not talking about your run of the mill PSU. I'm talking about him passing up an open WR or TE downfield ACROSS the 1st down marker ? Or take off running on his own ? Plenty right ? He does it all the time ! There's only one reason, padding his PSU stats.
We all know there are several ways to get into the HOF, one way being becoming an all time leader in some statistic. Don't let the selfish prick fool you. He's cementing his future in the HOF. And Colquitt will be there to read at his induction ceremony
