Pretty sure Sammy pulled up on the route thinking he wasn't getting the ball.

You can see him accelerate past the defender, as if he had slowed down.

Couple that with the Mahomes being visibly upset after the play. His body language didn't look to me like he was upset at himself.

I'm 90% confident that play wasn't on Mahomes, but instead Watkins quitting on the play too early.

If your speculation is correct and Sammy half-assed it, hopefully that play was a learning experience for him. Never give up on Mahomes. He has incredible vision downfield and the ability to extend plays. He has the Superman arm strength to hit any receiver at any time. Never give up on the play.

Just drafted Watkins 75th in my draft.

Hope over cynicism!

So what do yall expect from Watkins this year in terms of yards and TDs? I'll say 800 yards and 9 TDs.

That would be a very good return from Sammy.

Based on what?

Depends on perspective. That's not a very good return based on the contract. But I don't think he could ever get 16 million worth of numbers with the other guys that will get the ball.

A lot of his contract value is going to be getting other guys away from double teams and helping Mahomes. Tough part for Sammy is that it's an expensive cost considering our other needs.

If the Chiefs had drafted Josh Jackson we wouldn't be worried about Sammy's contract but instead they took an out of position backup fatass

I got him WAY later than that.

Don't care. Our defensive backfield is absolute trash and we spent 16 million annually on this dude. Moronic decision by Veach.

Hard to disagree. He's a luxury when we had areas of glaring need.

Kiimo 08-28-2018 01:12 PM

Or is he just ahead of the curve? Seems offense is going to prosper with these idiotic new rules.

I was having a bad draft. My picks kept going off the board and I was on tilt.

Reason I went that high is because I think they'll be looking for him in the N-zone often tbh.

The what??

Anyone else think Sammy Watkins is freakin' GREAT after the catch?

He reminds of a faster Dwayne Bowe. He looked really strong when he drew contact today.

He looked good today. He would have had an even better day if Mahomes would have threw the ball a little shorter when Watkins was open deep in the end zone.

Had a cool 100 today, and did it on a variety of different plays

Knew it was only a matter of time... its impossible to double everyone you want to with KC

Honestly, I think Pat is so good that he just takes whatever the defense gives him. Last week it was Tyreek and Sherman (for god’s sake). This week it was Kelce, Watkins, and Reek. Who knows next week? All I know is, Pat finds the open man, scores touchdowns, and wins games!
