If they did do this trade I would think Berry's injury is alot worse than they are saying

That would be amazing to get him on the team this year AND get Berry back, but something tells me if Veach wants Earl, they don’t think Berry is going to come back and last long.

Thomas = Free Safety... Berry = strong safety...

Rico already said it - Thomas plays free safety. This is a must-do move IMHO. Thomas gives them MUCH better coverage on the back end and if/when Berry comes back, that's a SB tandem.

Berry has been a FS the last 2-3 years.

I'll say this...

If Earl Thomas is a smart man, and I'm sure he is, if he sees this Chiefs offense, he'll know where to go if he wants a realistic chance of winning a SB ring.

Berry covers safeties primarily. They aren’t bringing Earl in to do that.

There has been talk all off season about Thomas wanting to be traded and the Chiefs haven't been mentioned in any of the rumors until news comes out that Berry still is out and not practicing for 7 weeks. Maybe it is just a coincidence and hope it is. I would love to have both Thomas and Berry roaming our secondary.
