Someday, I hope we learn the story behind his epic demise although the story behind Shady's benching is far more intriguing, given his past success with Reid and Veach.

It's still bizarre to me that one day, Shady's contributing and scoring touchdowns and the next, he's Persona Non Grata.

Even Shady hasn't made a peep.

Yeah, it wasn't just the fumbles. I'm certain of that.

No question.

Having a guy who considers himself some kind of talent 'guru' is how Scott Pioli's happen.

A collaborative approach to the scouting department is absolutely essential. Nobody has the time to watch EVERYONE and frankly very few people have the raw expertise to truly understand what they're seeing.

Gotta have a department you trust. Veach certainly deserves credit for surrounding himself with smart people, but those smart people deserve more credit than "ANOTHER VEACH SUCCESS STORY!!" as well...

I think that Veach and our scouts work so well together because because they all have the same definition of good, very good, great, and elite, when it comes to grading players at each position.

Veach has made what he is looking for in a player, at every position, clear to the scouts. And because they all understand the definition of good, very good, great, and elite, for each position, Veach doesn't have to spend so much time evaluating the evaluation that the scouts compiled for all the players.

And I think Veach keeps notes on every player, and is always checking his list against practice squads and the waiver wire. This practice is what made it possible for us to snag Butker from the Panthers practice squad. He and Toub, and the scouts, had Butker tagged as the number 1 placekicker coming out of college.

If Sneed and Dana continue what they've shown...and become full-time starters...that's quite a haul.

Those are two expensive positions...that teams use 1st round picks on. Gives KC a lot of flexibility in upcoming drafts..

I think its part because he wasn't the same player and probably was a little loose with some team rules. Bieniemy is pretty hard on the running back room, you only play if you are doing the right things. Lastly he doesn't play special teams - which seems to be a killer for back up rbs on this team.

If Veach, Spags, and Reid can continue hitting big on a lot of these draft picks, this thing will turn into a dynasty.

I seem to recall that he and EB had a negative interaction on the sideline and that was basically the last time he dressed for a game.

I think it's a little deeper than that.

What else do you think happened?

Mike showed up today - 3 tfl and a sack. Hopefully he can continue to develop - we could really use a decent de opposite Frank.

We may need a decent DE opposite Dana...

I think Sneed can be a high end starter.

I think Danna is probably a rotational guy, but that's a great snag at the end of the 5th round.

He's ahead of Kpass already, He's definitely a starter for someone in the league. Daly has coached up a hustle guy with some real athleticism. Can we keep him healthy, expand his role in our defense, and add some weight, power speed, new skills and strength. Looks like he's on that path.

bringbackmarty 12-13-2020 11:32 PM

He's like what, realistically maybe 265 lbs or maybe as low as 255 right now. He's effective but not an every down guy. If he can bulk up to 275-80 by the start of next year, he is probably starting instead of kpass.
