It's a very good CB class to be fair. As a Jets fan I'm stoked with Sauce, apart from his stellar play he's also a huge character. Will make a lot of $ in the league and from it in endorsements.

Ugh could've had Jaylen Watson in the 4th too!!
:cuss: This place is so ****ing stupid. |

Woolen vs. Williams was the source of my hatred for Pest. We got along great until he backed a lame horse and demonstrated that he simply can't recognize an obvious thoroughbred. |
Yeah - thought I drafted him in the CP Mock.
Took him 69th overall to the Jets. Woolen has so damn many tools the only concern with him was his transition to the next level since he started college as an offensive player. And he's taken to it immediately. He's gonna be really good for a really long time, IMO. |

Woolen's production is way above expectation. I think if you dig into it a bit he still has some signficant holes in his game, but to be fair at this stage its obviously a home-run selection.

I mean guys spend 4 years in college playing DB and still have holes in their game when they get to the next level. Trent McDuffie isn't even a finished product and his readiness was never in question. Woolen is a guy who transitioned to defense as a senior. Of course he's gonna have holes in his game - but it's like pitchers throwing 100 mph. When you have those kinds of tools, you don't have to be quite as precise with your command; you don't need to be as polished when it's hard to square up your misses. Woolen can take a false step but he's so fast and so long, he can get away with it still. And if he ever files those horns a bit, he's gonna be a legitimate lock-down guy. You know who's REALLY been crazy good? Jack Jones for the Patriots. He was a surprise 4th rounder (another guy I got in the CP Mock, IIRC). I think he's the kid who got tossed from USC for disciplinary issues - the one who hurt his ankles jumping from a chicks balcony when the cops showed up. Had to transfer to USC and he's balled out. He's the kind of guy who really surprises me because he hit the ground in the NFL looking FAR more polished than he looked at Arizona State. |

Sam Williams looking like he'd have been a great pick.

I just didn't understand him sliding. He clearly had 1st round tools and when I looked into the 'character flags' they just seemed awfully far in his rearview. And with the tools he ALSO had 1st round production from the SEC and an incredible pedigree. It just didn't make any sense to me that this guy wasn't going to be a top 50 player. Boy - it sure would be nice looking at him and Karlaftis at DE on this roster for the next several years and just being comfortable that we'll be solid there. |
