Oh yeah, over 65 plus years, it will.

That's not what we're talking about here, but again, carry on.

In the NBA too, the bigger you are the more difficult it is to have a long career. Not many 7ft 1+ guys make it over a long career. Same with really heavy guys.

There is no evidence to suggest smaller guys are more injury prone than larger guys. In the real world, there is actually evidence to the contrary.

Sure except everything you said is is completely off base as far as the NFL is concerned.

Quote:

The position in the NFL where players tend to miss the most games due to injury is the running back position. Running backs are frequently involved in high-impact plays, often taking hits from multiple defenders. Their role requires them to run through crowded areas, make sharp cuts, and absorb contact, which increases the risk of injuries such as knee injuries (like ACL tears), ankle sprains, and concussions.

Other positions that also experience a high number of injuries include wide receivers and defensive backs due to the physical demands and high-speed collisions involved in their roles. However, running backs typically have the highest injury rates and often miss the most games due to the nature of their position.

Yes, clearly what we are discussing in regards to why smaller football players get hurt more playing football.

I figure he'll miss the first 2 games for sure then be 'questionable' for the Falcons game and Andy will give him that standard extra week that he always seems to give injured players.

If I'm betting I think we see him against the Chargers. I'd sure love to get him back by the Cincy game but I don't see that as terribly likely.

BossChief 08-13-2024 01:50 PM

We don’t need him to beat Baltimore or Cincy.

I bet he’s pissed that he can’t play against his old team in the opener, but he will likely get his chance in the playoffs.

Do we not?

Then why'd we sign him?

If we don't 'need' him to beat what is probably 2 of the 4 best teams we'll play all season, I'd say that suggests we didn't 'need' him at all.

It's a pretty substantial loss, fellas. Not unlike when Hardman hurt his heel, Toney messed up his leg and/or Kelce got injured the ****ing DAY before the season started. When you have an off-season of making plans around a cog you expect to be there and be heavily used, losing that guy is a big damn deal.

We built this offense around the traits he brought to the table and now they're just not gonna be there for arguably the 2 most important regular season games we have. It's not just about the production we'll lose, it's about how we've tried to re-make this offense in a way that incorporates what he does well.

And that's largely out the window for those games now.

We 'need' him as much as we need anyone note named Mahomes, Kelce, Jones or McDuffie in those 2 games. And we almost certainly won't have him.

That sucks.

RunKC 08-13-2024 02:15 PM

Ravens lost a bunch of their best performing defenders and Mike McDonald. I think we’ll be fine.

Bengals rookie starting RT is out and Chase is still not practicing bc he wants a new contract. That team also has 2 other players (Higgins, Hendrickson) ask to be traded. Also lost a very good OC in Brian Callaghan and they never start well.

I don’t think these teams are as good as they were before. Texans are easily our biggest threat IMO

I’m not going to argue against any of that, but we have over a month to prepare for those contests without Hollywood.

I think we will be just fine.
