He was still racing?? I didn't stick around to see, but he must have had a LOT of tape after the first wreck!

Superspeedways are the anthesis of racing. It's no different than using a lottery machine to pull out ping pong balls with a number to determine the winner.

Ugh...the absolute worst of all racing sports. No braking, no pit strategy, just the luck of the draw not getting caught up in the big one, two, three or four.

All of this. This track doesn't determine if you're a good driver or not. There's no skill, just floor it and hope for the best. Don't lose your draft or you'll sink to the bottom.

75%, perhaps 90%, of the issue is restrictor plates. Get rid of them and it's a race. Keep them and it's a train of cars that didn't wreck (like my boy Jeff).

Carl was doing good, lost momentum and feel to the back. It's a horrible race. They need to fix it.

Agree. If they won't get rid of the restrictors, then replace the race with another road course.

Cryle Busch is back in the news.

Charlotte TV station WSOC-TV Channel 9 reported Sunday night that NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Kyle Busch was issued a speeding ticket for allegedly going 60 mph in a 45 mph zone on April 29 in Denver, N.C., located west of Charlotte.

According to the police report, the officer who issued the ticket said Busch had "a disrespectful attitude."

A request for comment from Busch's public relations representative was not immediately returned Sunday night.

You can read the entire Channel 9 report here.

In May 2011, Busch was cited for speeding and reckless driving in nearby Iredell County. You can read the story of that incident here.

According to WhawhaWhat:

I live out north of KC, it was raining hard for 10 minutes and the tornadoe warnings were on, it looks like its scattered showers after I checked the weather online. They better get the race in tonight because its supposed to rain for all of sunday and monday.

Pepe Silvia 05-10-2014 03:55 PM

It's looking ok now, those KC meteorologists always hope for rain, I hate it when they scare you like that. It was raining bad for a few minutes so I thought it was possible.

GloryDayz 05-10-2014 04:00 PM

I'm in the South East corner of the KC area, and other than some sprinkles, nothing so far. And that's good, I've got meat on the smoker, I'd rather not deal with playing the temperature game that rain forces...

Well, so far.. Looks like some heave poop is on the way!

Pepe Silvia 05-10-2014 04:30 PM

Another storm moving in, they shouldn't have scheduled it at night.

Dylan 05-10-2014 05:14 PM

NASCAR never races on Mother's Day...I could be wrong.

WhawhaWhat 05-10-2014 05:18 PM

Tornado touchdown in Missouri City which is about 30 minutes away.

Pepe Silvia 05-10-2014 05:19 PM

Even if there's a race my local news is gonna keep the weather casters on the whole time for tornado warnings so I miss the race either way, BS.

WhawhaWhat 05-10-2014 05:21 PM

This is from Gladstone.
