He has Kareemesque top end speed and that worked out well, on the field.

What? CEH isn't all that fast, but he is fast enough to be successful in Reid's offense. Especially if he's featured more in the passing game this season.

My point was that Kareem didnt have great top end speed either and was successful.
google says CEH 4.61
kareem 4.62.

Yeah but I still think Kareem has more top end speed once he got going.

CEH probably covered the first 10 yards faster.

Probably so... Kareem could take it to the house from anywhere on the field. CEH, cant. Or, has not really shown he can up to this point. Maybe Kareem was faster in full pads, because he's definitely faster than CEH.

Clyde is solid and will be a good back for us but he's not a home run hitter and that's fine. Not many rb's are 80 yard threat guys. He has really good vision and makes tough cuts to get extras yards and can catch.

Dunerdr 05-07-2021 12:38 PM

I distinctly remember Kareem being run down on a few plays. But he was bigger and very hard to bring down.

In this offense, the Chiefs need CEH to be a more efficient short yardage runner near the end zone and on third and short yardage situations than anything else.

The new offensive line should help with that as well.

I'm sure it happened. I remember him getting hit behind the LOS a lot as well... Do you also remember him taking it to the house several times and his outstanding TD to games played ratio?

I do remember that, and i think the Chiefs took CEH because he does a lot of things Kareem did just in a different fashion. We are comparing apples to oranges but the point remains the same, the top end speed isnt what made Kareem great, and isnt needed for to be successful in this offense.

Side note i see Kareem was clocked at 20.84 mph on a broadcast. Maybe soon we can compare.

OBJ still throws me off.

Tbf, a lot of Hunt’s breakaway TD’s happened as a receiver. The biggest surprise of the season for me on offense was that Mahomes and CEH never seemed to develop the chemistry that Patrick and Damien did, and we really felt that in the SB.

I’d bet that if that chemistry develops, we’d see CEH have breakaway potential just like Kareem.

I was very surprised that CEH wasn't used in the passing game more. I mean a big part of why he was drafted was because of his pass-catching ability. Maybe it had something to do with the lack of TC etc... I just expected way more. you're right - hopefully this year, with a full TC and preseason, and a much improved OL, it happens.
