Yea the difference in talent is significant and enough for me to take the risk.

Imagine a healthy Phillips on one side with Frank Clark on the other and Chris Jones on the inside...

Oh I’ve jerked off to this fantasy multiple times!

Phillips has the upside to make this a top 5 defense.

Year 2 Gay & Sneed on top of it? :whackit:

I just don’t see him getting to 31.

How far do you have to trade up to get the guy you want then.

Unfortunately, you’re probably right.

My only hope is that the lack of a normal combine combined with his medical history push him down into our range.

Some have him top 10, while others don’t even have him in the 1st. There’s just no telling how the NFL views these guys outside of the top 10-12 or so.

Apparently Chiefs really like CB Greg Newsome

Still waiting on a ****ing link penbrook.

All I can find about the Chiefs and Newsome is that they had a meeting. That doesn’t mean they “really like” him.

MahomesMagic 03-03-2021 01:30 PM

I can see teams not wanting to take that risk on Phillips. It would be the kind of be a risk KC could afford just because we would only need him for a 2-3 playoffs to make the pick worth it.

Teams not as close to winning it all won't want to take that risk.

Really like = interviewed

Just out of curiosity, who are the free agents during Veach's time that he's let go that we have even missed?

Ogbah off hand I feel is better than Okafor and would have been my preference.

Looks like there's going to be lots of players getting cut next week. I'll be interested to see who we can add on one-year deals to fill holes at OL, DE, WR etc.

Wow Nate Taylor heard those rumors. Looks like the Raiders could very well be in the market for a first round tackle

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">The <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Raiders?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#Raiders</a> have had talks about potentially dealing tackle Trent Brown, source said, and with few available tackles in free agency, Las Vegas has a shot.</p>&mdash; Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) <a href="https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/1367202099080163335?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">March 3, 2021</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Isn’t Phillips the one who retired briefly because of concussions?

I can’t pick that guy in R1 if that’s the case. He’s going to get another one, at least one probably.

That’s so interesting.

I have a feeling a lot of guys in the Hitchens tier are going to get cut. Could give the Chiefs some leverage in reworking that deal into a pay cut.

MahomesMagic 03-03-2021 03:11 PM

Some free agents I am interested in if they don't get big $$$ and have to settle for less money...

Everson Griffen, DE
Avery Williamson LB (Would let us cut Hitchens after June 1st)
Will Fuller WR

pugsnotdrugs19 03-03-2021 03:19 PM

I don’t see it with Hitchens getting cut. Like him or not, they clearly love him when you listen to Spags. He’s a captain. Got better in the system this year.
