I am conflicted on whether Onyewu should start or not... beginning to lean towards starting him.

Just a gut feeling.

-------------------Howard

Dolo---------DeMerit------Gooch---------Boca

Donovan-----Bradley-------Edu--------Dempsey

----------Altidore-----------Findley/Buddle

I liked what Buddle did today but I place a lot of value on Findley's speed. Gomez was good today, as well; but he is better suited coming off of the bench.

Edu has been the best midfield partner with Bradley so far, IMO. Stick with him. Ghana employs lots of midfielders so his defensive tenacity will be valuable.

New rule for World Cup enthusiasts:

Do not post anything about the World Cup outside of the World Cup thread.....cuz...you know....you might spoil it.

Alexi Lalas made a good point during the post-game wrap-up that not only does the U.S. do a great job of staying mentally tough and fighting to the last minute in every game, but they also have the physical conditioning to match the mental toughness. It was obvious on Donovan's goal that we had more energy than them, and that showed in the previous game, too.

Yeah, I noticed that too. The US team doesn't really seem to loose steam at the end of games. We stick around while others do not.

But damn....we start about as poorly as a team can.

I also am looking forward to England vs. Germany, possibly the biggest European rivalry.

That sounds like a negative statement.
