In regards to Justin Houston, Dorsey said he'll have more of an accurate timetable of return in two weeks. Wants to see where he's at then.

Stupid to rush JC and Houston back. If anything, put them in the 4th QTR of the last preseason game. Just to get a few reps in. These are so talented they don't need much practice. It's the rookies and players that are trying to make the team that need reps.

Houston? You mean Hali?

That's ironic though, because that's exactly what they're doing. Hali and Charles could've probably participated in the entire TC, but they're holding them out to make sure they're healthy and fresh for week 1.

What games in the first 6 weeks would we be in real danger of losing without Houston and JC? I feel like Ware/West can do just fine holding the RB spot down, but are we at risk of going <.500 without Houston out there as well?

That would end up being a waste. What are the chances of any 7th rounder making the team? Let alone this team..

Getting late round draft picks for players that won't make the team is brilliant, especially since those picks can be packaged as currency in order to move up or down.

I'm not sure why everyone is so convinced Mauga won't make the team

I wasn't talking specifically about Mauga but there will be players like DAT and Hammond and possibly Mauga that will be cut. It's better to get picks than nothing at all.

Also, the reason why people think that Mauga's expendable due to Justin March, Ramik Wilson and DJ Alexander, not to mention his salary cap figure and the fact that he's slow as dirt.

It's stuff like this that has led to 6 people blocking you Tim

If they're positive they're going to cut these guys, then trade them by all means.

I'm just not convinced about Mauga being jettisoned. He's proven, the other guys are not. There's value in keeping a guy like Mauga.

No, Houston. From his injury.

Definitely.

I'm really not too worried about Charles, but Hali and Houston being hobbled could spell our doom. And if Berry comes back with any bit of rust or gets hurt because he missed out on camp, we could be in real trouble.

Yeah, I would be okay with keeping Mauga around, as a backup while the young guys develop as well as a veteran in there should DJ get injured again.. I just don't want to see him starting anymore unless it's due to injury. I think that March and Wilson have a lot more upside.

Do you really think Hali is still "hobbled"? He's probably as fresh and healthy as he's been in years going into the season. He didn't have a major procedure and it's been several months. He was working out with his MMA buddies before camp. I highly doubt he would've been doing that if he were "hobbled".

I don't think it's a coincidence that him and Charles will both be coming back after we end camp. They've been held out as a precaution, and it's obvious.

As for Berry, he won't be any more rusty than he was to start the season last year after coming off of chemo.

Houston is the only one we should be really concerned about.
