Damn I wanted him so bad! Can you vision him in our offense?

Absolutely. Sitting on the bench, watching MEH get 2 ypc.

If status quo does not change, see what the prevailing opinion amongst all ex players coaches and front office will be on all networks covering NFL football.

Almost everyone will say Chiefs are being miserly and most will use jokes and laughing about it to make that point.

And the players in the Chiefs locker room are more like all those former players and coaches and not like you and other Chiefs fans that have prejudged the situation.

Status quo....you mean like three Super Bowl appearances in the last four years? Five straight years hosting the AFC Championship game?

There may be a few dumber posters on this site, but there sure aren't many.

If you were correct about this, 1 of 2 things would be true: 1/ holdouts like this would be very common or 2/ the contract Chris Jones is being asked to play on is so far beyond anything any player has ever had to play on in terms of a misvaluation of his talents.

The reality is that neither is true, and that's why it's an INCREDIBLY odd and really not great look to see a player holding out at the game with his agents.

I can't believe he attended with the Katz brothers of all people.

You may be right and I just keep taking the bait because he's definitely spouting "QJ in the Broncos thread" level of stupidity in my opinion.

Honestly wouldn't shock me if the offer is revoked and they're content to just let him sit out and tag and trade. The offense needs an actual viable weapon outside of Kelce more than the defense needs Jones from what I saw last night.

Other than the fact that they were the leagues #4 in yards per game and #5 offense in points per game in 2022 you're correct.....

I think the greatest proof of how off base you are is worrying about a player watching a game, when the team is making no effort at all to close the deal.

TJ Watt got his deal. Nick Bosa got his deal.

Chiefs lied and said they had restarted talks. All they did was make a courtesy call about putting Jones on did not report list.

I guess ****ing Jones out of fair market value is a lot of fun for Chiefs and fans like you, and watching Jones sacrifice gamechecks that he gets for showing up and pissing in the urinals and dogging it on the field making business decisions, is even more fun for folks that call him stupid for burning money that he does not really have to earn with 100% effort, but if it takes several seasons to get the next Lombardi, how much fun would that really be?

I'm against it on principle at this point, regardless of the amount. I'd love it if he was given the option of playing out his current contract starting next week, or be deactivated for the entire season.

When did Veach or anyone ever say that they restarted talks?

And how do you know exactly what’s been discussed?

Please share because I’d love to hear it.

I'm curious how we're ****ing CJ out of fair market value when we've offered him $27M?

I recently heard (was it on the broadcast last night?) they (CJ & the katz twatwaffles) are asking for three years, $84M. If that were true, why tf are they stuck? Per Nick Wright his sources report KC's offer at two years, 27.25/per. That's a 750k difference per year. CJ just wants a third year on the extension, whereas we're offering two years.

That does not seem very far apart. Someone is lying here.

Jones is demanding this year’s salary be increased from $20M to $28M. So there’s your difference, a demand for an immediate $8M raise. The team is correctly refusing his demand. He signed a contract to play for $20M this year.

What qualifies you to be the arbiter of "fair market value"?
