Our next match is in Rustenberg which is approximately 4921 feet above sea level.

Our first 3 matches were played at

4921 feet above sea level (England Match, we'll be in the same stadium this time)
5751 feet (Slovenia)
3982 feet (Algeria)

All 3 of Ghana's matches were at elevation as well.

Because if I say something is balls then I always mean it negatively. I've never before seen or heard someone use that phrasing in a positive sense.

Incredible game. A couple of observations:

1) Some undeserved criticism of Dempsey. The guy has been stellar.

2) I give credit to the Algerians. They could have laid back in extra time, but countered in an attempt to win. It cost them as the USA counter attacked and scored. For a team with nothing to play for they did take their shots. It beats the kind of back room deals that pervaded this type of game for decades.

Saturday will be incredible. Think I'll do the P&L thing.

They needed 2 goals and played defensive ball the whole game. I disagree with you.

I knew your post was intended to be complimentary because I can read and understand context. I was just saying that it sounds like it isn't.

Fair enough.

They hit the post in the first 6 minutes and counter-attacked when given the chance. That's how they play.

I disagree on both of your points.....Dempsey has played poorly at best IMO (of course I don't like him as everytime someone gets near him he dives....it's like he's playing for Italy or something)
Algeria played defensively for about 85% of the game. A Slovenian win and an Algerian win and they would have been through. They DID have something to play for.

If the 2 goals that were disallowed had counted, we'd be in 3rd place for most goals scored so far.

1. Portugal (7 goals - 2 games)
2. Argentina (7 goals - 3 games)
3. USA (6 goals - 3 games)
4. Brazil (5 goals - 2 games)
5. Germany (5 goals - 3 games)
