Regulars here know I hate Jay. We had just scored. Got runners on first and second. Pitcher coming in is a left hander Matheny pulls Jay to bat Bourjas. Put the RH in to face the LH pitcher. Except that Jay is hitting .386 against LH pitching and Bourjas is hitting .196. Why trade .386 for .196 just because they bat RH if they RH bat is below the mendoza line against LH pitching?

It's because of that home run against Kershaw. But if Wong or Taveras have 1 bad game they get benched. MM frustrates me just as much.

Taveras has had very few AB's where he looked over matched. The dude can hit. We just need to bite the bullet and let him get use to big show pitching.

Taveras goes 2-4 and the next game he goes 0-4 he sits on the bench. Jay/Craig can go 0-4 in several games in a row and they are not pulled.

He is putting way too much pressure on the young hitters. The AB I mentioned earlier was talked about on the Rays broadcast. Bourjas swung at a pitch outside the strike zone because he was trying to make something happen that wasn't there to happen so he doesn't sit on the bench.

If its a veteran thats not producing, they get to stay in the line up.

No shit. I don't think anyone can argue that Descalso has a better glove than Kozma. If Delcasco is going to hit below the mendoza line, why is he here? At least you can use Kozma as a late defensive replacement or when Peralta needs a day off.

Every time I hear Matheny say that we need to play Delcasco to get him going....... I want to throw shit at the TV.

And to Hootie. Shields overall stats still make him look solid but he has been fairly hittable since earlier in the year.
