Overall, it was a good first game.

2nd game not so much. It's way too high of a bar to expect any person to immediately fix the mental errors, base running blunders and lackadaisical play. How was he supposed to fix Pham's BS plays from last night with one game of managing?

They have played this way for 2.5 years. There is not a chance in hell that he's not better than Matheny. A fencepost would be better.

Who here thought that Dewitt would pull the trigger on firing Matheny in mid-season? Now we have a chance to see what effect Schildt has on the team by the end of the season. No idea if he is the real deal. We will find out. If not, we have not fallen so far that we cant land a top manager in the off season.

I went around pissed off about Matheny for years. I dont have the same level of hate for Mo. Mo aint going nowhere. Thats just the fact. If the next manager fails, then he's out.

Building a roster counting on a guy like Pham (that should be a platoon guy) in the TWO spot is a disaster...and I said this before the season. Nice bullpen too...:rolleyes:

Mo has not taken the idea of trading Carlos Martinez off the table. What are your thoughts? Would you package Carlos and include Fowler for salary relief in a deal?

reading all the rumors that the Yankees love him. If we can get Torres+ some other low level prospects with high upsides, how do you not consider that deal?
