Had to work at 2 am so just finally watched the game. Great first and last quarter. For about a half hour Denver looked like our defense circa fifteen years ago. About laughed my ass off at the Poe touchdown throw. Too bad about the early int. 33-10 was pretty sweet. 33-3 was probably too much to ask for, but I'm greedy damnit.
We better ****ing beat San Diego. I hope Denver is healthy enough to handle the McGloins. They seemed to have a lot of guys going down. |
This post is not to alleviate blame on Alex for the INT... because he got hit as he threw.. so there really is no blame. Shit just happens.
On this play, they snap the ball on the 20. By the time the ball passes the 30 yard line on a rainbow arc, Hill is on the 35... running... and tracking the ball in air. Hill gets to the 43 yard line and is extending his hands to make this catch... but has no idea that the DB is undercutting as the ball comes down. So 31 gets up in the air and snags the ball for an INT. Angry at Hill? Blame Hill? the blasphemy!!!!! but no.. just wanted to point out that this play was.. what I thought it was when watching live... Hill waited for the ball to come down to him. I often wonder why receivers do this instead of going up in the air to meet the ball. Had he done this? No INT... maybe no catch... but no easy INT. SO glad it wasn't a game-changer.. though at the time, it sure felt like one. |
On that play, Denver sent both ILBs. LDT did well in blocking one of them. For some reason, Morse focused his attention to the left to help Fulton out, and allowed the other ILB to get right through.
