I would agree that Scherzer is a better pitcher, but he's going to have to be a bit more successful in the playoffs before he could lay claim to shitting out Lester.

Carp doesn’t have a no trade clause. I love Carp but it’s in the best interests of the Cardinals to see what we could get for him and Carlos. The Cards never sell high. It’s time to do that and get ready for 2019.

Mikolas and J Martinez are found money. Trade for the best haul you can get. Surely there is an American League team that can use a starter and a bat?

Given that Hand with 3+ years of control and Cimber with 5+ years of control went for 1 guy in the top 20 with questions about remaining as a catcher, I can't imagine guys like Familia or Britton are going to cost as much as rentals of years past.
