That's usually when coaches turtle up. They take some risks to get it close after a big comeback, and then can't emotionally handle more risks.

Well who is the next chargers head coach? No way they retain that idiot.

Herm Edwards is available.

Payton isn't stupid... It would be a big risk to be in the AFC West and AFC in general when you look at the NFC... If the Cowboys get rolled, he will be the next coach of the Cowboys...

Leg 2 parlay completed.

Of course Chargers had to choke but it's all good!

Yeah, the Chargers were making those tap-ins but when the Jaguars woke up, Chargers’ O did nothing. 3 points in the second half, couldn’t stay on the field in the 4th to kill the clock. Not sure how many 3 and outs, but Herbert ought to look in the mirror

I will say it again... Don't know if I ever saw a game with two playoff teams, let alone a playoff game where they won the turnover battle 5-0 and lost the game.

According to the Pro Football Reference Game Finder using this query, it is seven for the regular season and playoffs. Three post-merger playoff games surpassed Seattle's five.

The Tennessee Titans defeated the Cleveland Browns on November 19, 2000, by the score of 24 to 10. They committed seven turnovers to Cleveland's one, but thanks to Tennessee having Eddie George and Steve McNair, and Cleveland being, well, Cleveland, they still won the game handily.

Three other teams won the game with seven turnovers; Buffalo defeated NYG with 7 turnovers to the Giants' 2 in 1987, in a 6-3 overtime game involving 6 missed field goals (bet they wish they had Scott Norwood that day). 1983 featured the other two games, with PIT defeating the hapless Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a 7-0 turnover differential, and Miami defeated Kansas City in a turnover-filled game (12 total turnovers, 7 by the victorious Dolphins).

The only three playoff games with more turnovers than Seattle's defeat of the Packers, are a fairly well known Superbowl, a less well known Conference Championship, and a game that should be fairly familiar to NFL fans older than 35 or so. Prior to The Catch, the 49ers had six turnovers to Dallas's 3 in 1982. During Superbowl V, the Colts had seven turnovers to Dallas's four. Finally, in the 1975 season, the Steelers beat the Raiders 16-10, with 7 turnovers to Oakland's five.

Media loves zits though. It will never be his fault.

Lack of run game really hurt with the lead

I saw 17 segments before the game about how awesome Eckler is. Guess not.

Herbert has no killer instinct. A glorified Stafford.

Even the 3 points in 2nd half was a fraud. Incomplete pass was given to Chargers for a 20+ yard gain, which led to the field goal. Would have been a punt if the refs called that pass incomplete.

Staley will be the scapegoat, and they’ll ignore Herbert still not being able to play winning football in big games. He’s a big armed, stat padding loser.
