The first show I remember watching (and it went on forever) was an English show called "Are You Being Served?" My parents and grandparents loved watching that. It was on Iowa Public Television. Good show.

I've really been pondering this for a few days, and the earliest thing I can remember watching is this:

I'm trying to remember if my Space Ghost memories were TV or a comic book, but they were definitely early cartoon memories.

If we're talking about putting serious thought into it, the earliest memory of something on a TV screen, the earliest I can think of is probably this;

Definitely remember this. My cousin lived near us for a short time in 74-75 and his dad drove a Gran Tarino.
We drove down to Galveston in that Tarino on vacation and Six Flags over Texas Somewhere was the first amusement park I ever remember going to, and the only one I went to where I was too little for ANYTHING.

Funnily enough, though understandable since SoSF was never big in syndication, never realized until today that David Soul was on SoSF too.

It was either the televised special showing of the movie The Wizard of Oz or the first season of Sesame Street. Prior to that I didn't recognize individual shows as distinct events.

I remember that show. I found it mildly amusing as a child. I saw it in syndication.

Two astronauts, traveling faster than light, go back in time to prehistoric Earth. Unable to return, they make friends with the "natives."


That and Wizard of Oz are the first two I remember. And it had to be in 1966 when I watched them. I remember we were living in El Cajon, Ca. I was 4 yrs. old and completely mesmerized by The Wizard of Oz.

Cleveland had already given the serious answer, but I chuckled at my own little jokey answer, so I thought I'd share. ;)

Was 'Charlie Brown' a series, or are you talking about the specials?
