When I was a kid from like 6-12 I frequently had out of body experiences. Most of the time I would wake up and not be able to move and then would come out and look down on my body. The first several times it was terrifying I thought I was dead. It's something I wish my parents had harnessed my ability to do instead of telling me it was just a dream.

I had a near death experience once, but it wasn't out of body...for the most part, I wouldn't say that anyone's experience is true or false...they experienced it, not me.

i always thought those were dreams, though i never looked down upon myself i did have a feeling of cant escape/held down.

That + viewing Close Encounters of the Third Kind before bed will make you think you're being abducted by aliens.

Just saw this post...I would guess your parent's reaction would be pretty typical...in fact I can't say I wouldn't react the same way if my kid told me about it...but what could they have done to harness it?

It's absolutely a life changing experience. I can't say for sure that it's not just the mind doing it but once it happens there is no going back. After seeing your body and being able to move and carry your conscience without it and feel yourself come back into your body there is just no way you can believe that you are not more than your skin. Having an experience once you understand it is also one of the most liberating highs I have ever felt. I would love to visit the Monroe Institute one of these days.

possibly though it happened often from about the time of 8-12. enough that it stuck with me.
then again ive had reoccuring dreams where i can fly and actualy teach myself in the dream how to levitate and descend.and i know i cant fly so..
